Likely not. Isn't MAry a catholic or has it been said what religion she is?

No, she is not a catholic, both in TBBT and in YS she has been pretty skeptical about Catholicism. I think it was said in TBBT she is a born-again Christian. In YS she attends a Protestant Church, I can't tell which confession it is.

It's a Baptist church that the family attends in YS.  Generally speaking, the religion she seems to follow in TBBT is Mary-Cooperism.  I've known many Baptists over the years, and even attended a Baptist church before a friend passed her driving test. I can't say that any of them are quite like Mary. :)

George's behaviour, however, if it's true he became a drunken adulterer, would give Mary grounds for divorce  in most if not all Christian denominations. It's remarriage that isn't always approved of.

I think they said a born again christian. I don't think they mentioned a specific one. She told Alfred she worked at the church. So she could've divorced him. But, his death took that choice from her.

Ok i've seen all the pics and my prediction is Sheldon will have a reasonable gripe with Howard.  Look at the pictures with Sheldon and Howard it looks like there is no animosity there but Howard isn't just dressed as Sheldon, his mannerisms and body language also kind of looks robotic. If he is using 'Sheldon is a robot' piss taking/banter then that would fit Howard, he has often through the years used that against Sheldon.  Sheldon looks upset with him in one of the cafeteria pics, my guess is Howard goes too far.

Perhaps Sheldon is planning to try and get him back, or maybe he doesn't want to go to the party hence the pics of Amy in her costume and Sheldon not in his office.

Looks like Amy and Bernie chat to try and diffuse the situation, maybe she sorts out Howard hence why they go as Mary Poppins and Bert instead? Sheldon might have a moment here at the party when he tells Howard his actions upset him. Bernie and Howard look a bit somber in one of the pics and so does Raj and Anu. Though both couples reactions might be just awkwardness over a Lenny first kiss argument.

Looks like Howard apologies to Sheldon in the cafteria when he is sitting with Amy.

No she is a born again Christian. She called catholic's rosary rattlers.

I totally forgot about that. I remember in that episode Leonard correcting her constantly.

I'm good with this as long as someone else gets hit in the face with Amy's can of coins in her purse!  😊

I don't know if your right but I am impressed how you got all that out of those photos. I don't think Howdette and Raj/Anu are looking at Lenny. JMO they are looking at the other couple that doesn't appear in 4A.

I'm not sure how important the parents divorces were to the show.

So true!

Actually I thought Raj's relapse was a result of his parents' split. He was pretty much settled with Emily until then.  I wondered whether TPTB were going to bring it up but they didn't. They must have had a reason for  splitting the parents.  Whatever it was they didn't proceed with it.

Maybe Amy will. That would be Karma. 😊

'The Big Bang Theory’ Cast Is So Happy to Have Bob Newhart Back for the Final Season

The Emmy Award-winning comedy legend is returning to The Big Bang Theory for its 12th and final season – and only ET has your first look at what could be his last episode of the series.

So just what will Professor Proton turned Sheldon’s sarcastic subconscious be up to this time? “Bob’s back to offer advice because when you have marital problems, you go to Bob Newhart in Jedi robes,” Jim Parsons quips in the video above.

“I’m kind of Obi-Wan – whatever that means,” the 89-year-old star says with a smile to the cameras. “Whenever Jim has a problem then he comes to me. He and Amy had a fight and he came to me and wanted my advice on how to handle their first fight.”

Press play on the video above for a special sneak peek at the hilarious marriage advice Arthur offers while they dine together in Sheldon’s dreams.

The Big Bang Theory’s final season airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.

Maybe it was due to actress availability. She wasn't on that much after the divorce plot while Raj's father had appeared various times since then.

It could have been, but if so, idivorcing them wasn't necessary. We've seen Penny's father on his own, and Bernadette's with no reference to the mothers. On one occasion, a Thanksgiving, they said Bernie's mother was in Colorado with other relatives because it probably would have looked odd she wasn't there. However, generally they just don't say. It wouldn't have hurt to treat Raj's parents the same way.

Well you can argue what part of the audience would tune out over a prolonged period of time. If a show theoretically “jumped the shark”. But my point was I don’t think they would take that risk. Of course it’s only an issue if ratings decline so rapidly. And that’s unlikely.

Of course said they have had two divorces on the show. So won’t do it to any of the main characters. I see Shamy maybe in a flash forward hahaha kidding.

DEFINITELY not Catholic. Just Evangelical.

Mary identifies as a Born Again Christian...From The Rhinitis Revelation (5 x 6)

Scene: The apartment. Sheldon’s mother is visiting.

Leonard: So what kind of cruise is this you’re going on?

Mrs Cooper: It’s called the Born Again Boat Ride. Christian Quarterly gave it their highest rating, five thorny crowns. I do wish you’d come with me, Sheldon.

Sheldon: Well, Mom, if I did, it would be conclusive proof that your God can work miracles.

Mrs Cooper: You’re missing out. It’s gonna be wall-to-wall fun. It’s all themed. There’s Jonah and the Whale Watching, all-you-can-eat Last Supper Buffet, and my personal favourite, Gunning with God.

Leonard: What’s Gunning with God? I’m afraid to ask.

Mrs Cooper: Oh, it is a hoot and a half. You write your sins on a clay pigeon, they fire ’em up in the air, and you pulverize them with a 12-gauge shotgun full of our Lord’s forgiveness.

Sheldon: Frankly, Mom, I’m encouraged to see how advanced your group has become, willing to sail out into the ocean without fear of falling off the edge.

Mrs Cooper: For example, if Shelly was aboard, he’d write “smart mouth” on his pigeon, and then bam!

My favorite Mary quote about her Christianity is from Maternal Combustian:
Doesn’t matter, a good Christian would’ve turned the other cheek. On the other hand, a good Texan would’ve shot her, so, I just kind of split the difference.

Jump the shark is from Happy Days and that show still does reasonably well in repeats.

So I guess this is another Sheldon/Shamy centered episode......why bother with the other cast members?
