I don't think that is typical.  Bob Newhart asked for a three episode contract or he was not interested. He has done more than three now. 😃 I think guests typically get contracts episode by episode and see how it goes. My understanding is that Mayim originally was brought in for one episode and it worked. Kathy Bates has a character that could shake things up.

Thanks for the info.

I guess it is too much to wish from the writers that Lenny and Howardette does have their own stories at the start of season 12, because Shamy is on a honeymoon.

That's the thing which I finding annoying The Shamy are on honeymoon , but instead of giving the rest of the group there own stories. Instead by the sound of it they're going to pestered by Amy's parents instead. I mean why the heck are her parents even there if Amy and Sheldon are on honeymoon, it comes across as they have no intention of doing anything with the rest of the group without Shamy being there. So decided to lump them altogether in one plot with her parents.  Also I bet Lennies anniversary is ignored.

So sad that the writers can't come up with any ideas for the rest of the group that doesn't involve Shamy.  I'm guessing that the only anniversary we will ever see is of course Shamy's

It has been in the past, as well as Howard and Bernadette's. Lenny's first anniversary wasn't more than an after thought.

Well, it seems the writers feel that Sheldon is the most thoughtful, romantic of the guys. The good news is if season 12 is the last, then there will be no Shamy anniversary.

To be fair we do not know they are being pestered. We do not know much about the storyline at all. There are a lot of ways they can tie them in. And I think Bates and Teller were inspired casting. I'm willing to wait and see what they can do with whatever they are given.

For the wedding episode only. There's no need for them unless shamy is there. They are Amy's parents, no one else's. I am not willing to wait and see.

Then you will have to learn to live with disappointment. Because it seems now that they have these people in the fold they are going to use them when they can. This is not the first time characters have related somehow to more than one person in the group. It's not that unusual.

No, it's called Fast Forward and omit!

But why don't we see Leonard's dad or Penny's mother interact more with the gang ?

Just ridiculous for Amy's parents to show up at 2311 N Los Robles Ave, when Amy is away on honeymoon.

Hopefully they show up and Leonard/Penny send them to the honeymooners location. That way they can annoy the hell out of them, as is appropriate.

So glad I gave up watching the show in S10. I knew where the show was going and not in the direction I liked. Now it doesn't bother me how the show is written now or S12, I'm over it and can come on here not slightly bothered by speculations about the sheldon show. To me the bbt is dead and will never returned. If you are not a Sheldon/ Shamy fan, then no point complaining about the writing, it's not going to change. I found that out years ago and now at peace with myself.6afd9987267ca5c834780cce95d29eb8.jpg

Unless they call at 4b with presents. We'll know  when we get spoilers ( please, please ) from the taping later this month or even Instagram in  the few days before it. I' m crossing my fingers we can be speculating again this time next year.

Wouldn't Amy have told her parents that they are away on a honeymoon.

I was under the impression that they were still in town due to the wedding. Based on interviews with Steve Holland and Steve Molaro, the premiere is suppose to pick-up only a few days later. It may be that Amy's parents missed their flight.

If it feels that much of a loss to you, I'm sorry. The Archers changed so much  I gave that up. Scriptwriters can be heartless buggers.   Ambridge was no longer the village I grew up in. The people too were changing. From what friends tell me, everybody has undergone personality transplants since I last heard them. Do writers care what they do to us ?

If any of you are wondering whether or not season beyond 12 are a possibility, look to how CBS markets the show.   If, remember, IF CBS isn't marketing it as the last season, then there are discussion for more seasons.  If they start talking about the final season, the show will be done after the coming year.

Think you are absolutely right.  In fact I feel that WB/CBS has agreed on another season and only has to get the cast on board. If a season 13 is forthcoming then I think they should market it as the final season. This way everyone involved will give it their best and it might urge advertisers a little more knowing it is the finale season.

There may be no point to it, but it's fun sometimes.

I thought they were in driving distance. Did they move?

Yeah, I'm not easily pleased as well. I try to make the best out of a bad situation. Thus, fast forwarding past the Shamy and family nonsense. I know it's not a perfect solution, but I watch Lenny without Shamy. But I do like Teller!

I thought the funniest scene in the finale episode was when  Teller made a hanging gesture when someone made a remark to him (Don't quite remember what it was)

Why would they fly ? Have they moved a long way  away ? If not, some wedding presents could have been dropped at their house and they  bring them round while Shamy are away. Or perhaps they have bought them  some NEW FURNITURE which they ' re having installed as a surprise. Yay ! They' re bound to be mistaken for burglars by the 4A  crowd, or perhaps they call at 4A on their way to be polite or to pick up the key.
