But he’s not a selfish character in cannon. Sheldon is. If we’re taking score. It’s Sheldon 10000, Leonard 10. Theirs more vast and broader evidence over the course of the past 12 seasons of Sheldon generally being a selfish character. That doesent mean I don’t think he has any redeeming qualities. He’s proove he cares about Leonard. But you can’t quantifie one selfish action from Leonard. Which can be argued as OOC. In the same volume as Sheldons pathological pattern of selfish behaviour. Absolutely correct! Sheldon is not really a bad guy. Just the most selfish individual in the entire TV Land. If you looked up the word selfish in the dictionary, there is probably a picture of Sheldon as a reference! 😉😏😊
bfm
It's a good thing Leonard doesn't do too much physical work anyway, I guess they can work around a cast/brace. They will probably invent some weird accident, with Leonard suffering disproportionate damage.

Maybe there was some new online game that the guys were hooked on, Leonard especially and he does some kind of repetitive strain injury or something hence his splint? Overwatch was the last game you saw them playing online and that was ages ago and just a brief scene. Edited November 4, 2018 by Jonny

How about the bed collapsed and he put his hand and arm under Penny’s head to keep it from hitting the floor and got his hand hurt. They could even make a joke about it being better it was his hand than her head since she already has a hard time keeping up with them when they talk their “sciency” stuff. He could have simply gone to Siebert and said that he weighed up all the options all three are doing great work and funding would help that further but he ultimately couldn't decide so he was giving up the responsibility. Siebert would have then passed the decision on to somebody else as he revealed to Leonard. He did go to Siebert, the thing is he didn't give it up. If it was me in that position the one thing I wouldn't do is allocate the funding to myself, from the outset that could not have been an option. If I felt strongly that the funding would have helped me and that my case for funding was just as strong as the other candidates then I would have submitted my proposal to whoever was going to take charge of the decision after I gave it up. Doesn't matter how he came to that outcome even if he had noble intentions from the outset, he made a decision that ultimately benefited himself. I'm not comparing or ranking selfishness moments on the show between the characters, nor do I see the argument 'Well he's not as selfish as so and so so we can let him off just this time' as a valid one. Leonard was selfish and I have no problem with it, none of the characters are saints on this show and it would be kind of boring if they were truth be told. I don't share your opinion even if I understand your reasoning behind it. I wholeheartedly disagree with the part of your post I bolded, specially because intentions do matter, not just results. So much so that they are taken into consideration even when legal matters are concerned. For me it is OK to give him a pass on this one precisely because it is a rare occurrence and (to me at least) context matters. I am willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt when his/her actions merit it. On 11/3/2018 at 4:20 PM, Capt. A specialist might actually put him in a cast for a period of time. I can't imagine that he can take that brace off for filming. I broke my left arm a few years ago and the ER put me in a brace. 3 days later (after the swelling went down) I went to the specialist who set the break back in place and then put a cast on my arm. Uuuggggghhhhh! I feel so sorry for you. Even if you are mentioning it matter of factly it sounds so excruciatingly painful.

3ku11
I thought this was an interesting article ova here in NZ. Makes some good points about the show ending. https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv-radio/106567097/the-big-bang-theory-after-floundering-last-season-top-sitcom-is-wise-to-wrap-up "Creatively, however, Bang is showing its age. Although long defying the decline that eventually afflicts long-running comedies, it started to flounder last season." Financially it makes no sense, but creatively it does.
