I really hope they keep with no kids thing for Penny. I think that would make an interesting end to the show. Instead of the typical date, marry and baby, let Penny go out with a great career. A big step up from the waitress/actress job at the beginning of the show.

Penny didn’t come to California to be a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep. for a drug company. Her job now is OOC. It was somewhat believable when she hated the job. Now she likes the job. LOL. That’s why this “successful” career is meaningless to me. If she had an acting career I could buy that more although I wouldn’t call that a happy ending for Lenny. Maybe something else could happen but I haven’t heard anything yet.

Thousands of young women (and men) go out to Hollywood to become stars. Few make it. The rest go on with life taking jobs that will supply them with a salary to live on.

This isn't real world. For example how many people become astronauts?  My point is this is TBBT. Not reality

While this is not reality, Penny becoming a huge star would be too fairytaley to me, like Sheldon and Amy winning a Nobel (and a minute after publishing).

I understand that. My original comment was about how I didn't believe the show could have a happy ending for Lenny if she wasn't pregnant.

The answer I suppose is if Leonard sincerely didn't want kids, but they won't be able to "sell" it. 

The problem IMO is not having a couple have a happy ending without kids. That by itself can be a good thing, showing this can be, you don't have to have kids to be happy. The problem IMO is that Penny not wanting kids came after years, out of the blue, IMO does not fit the character, and broke Leonard's heart in what is supposed to be a feel-good sitcom.

I'm not sure what you mean. They said they were going to get married in India and the gang could come. Then Raj's father said if they didn't have the wedding he'd have a lot more elephants at his birthday party. Raj also told Sheldon there would be elephants but that Sheldon could not feed them peanuts. Please explain. I'm sorry to be dense.,

You could have sold the no kids bit with the other two and IMO it would of been believable. I just don't buy Penny as worrying about her career.

That’s a fair point. Sheldon for years only cared for science. Changing enough to embrace love of a woman and getting married could have been enough for Shamy, who started as a couple dedicated to knowledge ( yes I know a very early Shamy episode had that whole procreation to gift humanity with another Sheldon thing but that could have been left as a one off joke as much as some say about “smart and beautiful”). Leonard on the other hand from the beginning, while loving science, was also craving the love of a woman. Shamy, two people who are depicted as dedicated people of science, as the poster children of you don’t need kids for a happy ending could be argued are more suitable than Penny and Leonard, two people who throughout the series were depicted as the nurturing couple. But the writers beg to differ, with the shared universe of BBT and Young Sheldon declaring children are in the future for Shamy and so we are left with late blooming career woman Penny as the holdout.

Well why I would be thrilled if Lenny have kids. IT does not define their relationship for me. I got invested in them because how I related to their relationship. I Think its Bold having Penny not wanting kids. Of course alot of Lenny fans don't like they have constructed it. And granted 12x03 was a train wreck. But I Think it is refreshing. IT makes things a little less predictable.

I can agree with this. Not everyone must have kids to be happy. In my opinion just having the love of your life can be enough.i think it would be cool to show a woman that chooses not to have kids travel down a road less traveled.   It takes a strong person to do that. This is what I hope they do because to me it is more interesting. 

I wish they would stop any and all baby episodes and just have Penny say she was pregnant last episode. But I doubt this will happen. Looks like season 12 is a baby season. I was really hopeful they would stay true to no pegnancy storylines. I am really bored with pregnancy episodes. Perhaps I am just bored with the entire show?

The writer said shamy will have kids, never said they will be good parents. Beverley style me think and that's not good.

True enough. I think that I have had enough pregnancy story lines and the sperm donation thing is just plain weird to me. Some people didn't like the wedding stuff. I compare it to that. Wish they would just announce her pregnant and then let it go.

Penny’s career as I see it is based on:

1. Bernadette getting her a job 

2. Selling drugs to guys by bending over checking out her rack.

3. And as the last episode showed being a bitch as a boss

 

As a father should I tell my daughter to be like Penny?

Until I hear otherwise I am operating under the assumption that there is going to be some sort of time jump or voice over fast forward at the end of the final episode.  That sort of scenario would allow them to make things happen in a more realistic time frame.
