Thank you for the links...looks like another boring episode. I though they were going to kick it in to high gear for the last season...

I would love to know what happened to Howard's dad...why he left and to introduce him to Howard's kids and Bernie.

I would like Lenny to find some happiness and common ground. Perhaps move to New Jersey or Kansas where they have family and a big University for Leonard to work at and Penny to continue to excel in sales job.

I would like Shamy to get a starter house next to Howards and a promotion for their asymmetry work.

I want to know more about Raj and Anu relationship.

I want to know why Howard wears alien pins all the time.

I want to know Penny's maiden name before she was Johnson or Hofsteadter.

I want Stuart to win the lottery.

I feel they have so much stuff to wrap up and we are not seeing much closure on anything that has been left hanging.

Hope they start trying to give some closure before it is too late.

Shatner is going to be in this episode and they are playing D&D. :)

Your list reminds me of a recurring Carol Barnett skit.

Don't know what that show is or what your post means. Why is your stomach churning?

It was a parody of a soap opera that featured on the Carol Burnett Show in the 1970s. see below:

Quote

"As the Stomach Turns" is a series of comedy sketches parodying the soap opera As the World Turns featured on The Carol Burnett Show, with one installment airing on Carol Burnett & Company. The sketch was created by show writers Kenny Solms and Gail Parent.[1] The Carol Burnett Show introduced the series during its first season in 1967–68 and continued to air new installments for the remainder of its 11-season run, through its final season in 1977–78. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/As_the_Stomach_Turns

The connection is simply that it always ended with a series of questions as to what would happen in a series of unresolved issues.

I have read this article. it is only Kaplan's PERSONAL opinion. It does not mean this topic will end in this manner. But one thing I think they were correct on is because they have cast aside Lenny these last few years without any meaningful storylines they may be trying to make up for the lost time by giving them this no baby or baby arc.

Someone needs to take Mr. Kaplan off his high horse. The show has never meant to be about something that deep. I think the show is doing women a disservice if Penny is the poster child of a career woman with no kids.

Why is it a disservice in your opinion?

Someone like Bernadette who worked hard going to graduate school to earn her PHD while waitressing. Penny on the other hand who quit her job and had no prospects got her job basically because Bernadette’s boss was scared of her.

Thanks. This formed my thoughts into perfect words!

"With the show disregarding Penny and Leonard the last couple of seasons after they got married, many are convinced that this baby conflict is making up for lost time. And if the show has more time to actually flesh out this particular subplot, it would be far more effective. But with just a handful of episodes left, not to mention the need to give the rest of the characters their own satisfying endgames, it just feels rushed and pointless. Regardless of what they decide to do with the Hofstadters, here’s hoping that it’ll be a fitting send-off for the show’s principal couple."

I don’t know if this link is allowed but discuss....

They've  been saying things like this for a long time now. It's not like it's big news. For those of us that didn't want to see anymore babies on the show (I didn't need the two they conjured up already) this is not a bad thing, but it WAS poorly executed. They could have just left it to the fans to imagine what happened next.

It was an awesome skit making fun of soap operas. I enjoyed seeing it again.

But Kaplan is not of no consequence to the show. If he's saying this, it must mean something.

Nobody wants to see any babies IMO. Howdette’s was poorly written and totally unnecessary. I think what makes it more difficult is even though I don’t watch YS it’s mentioned Shamy has kids on the show. As to Lenny not having kids it has been  mentioned only this season. It somehow could of been mentioned earlier.

As to Kaplan, I thought he was the guy from Welcome Back Kotter, he needs to remember how things end. JMO but most of us have mentioned how bad the show has been the last couple seasons.(some would argue longer). Having a casual mentioned that Penny is pregnant in the finale would make a lot of people happy and IMO only tick off very few.  As I said early I wouldn’t think the ideal career woman who was married and childless would be Penny. A childless couple IMO would have fit Howdette or Shamy not Lenny.

Again a happy ending for all is what’s needed. People remember an ending more than a bad episode back in season 5.

Your second comment is very interesting. What if Penny and Leonard are asked to go back to Nebraska when her father is ill and cannot run the farm and asks Penny to do so. Then Leonard gets a professorship job at the university in Omaha Think many people would be satisfied with this ending. But as an extension in the final episode we see a time jump showing Penny pregnant or little Hofstadters running around. This would probably please most Lenny shippers.

Yes indeed. I'd like to see some outside-filmed scenes where penny and Leonard were both on horseback - the wimpy Leonard joke needs to be finally knocked on the head. Maybe Penny takes part in some event at a rodeo. Or maybe as a professor's wife she could become some sort of patron of the U of N Rodeo Association. Have I mentioned before that I want to see Penny in western boots?

Why Kansas? Penny, as we all know, is from Nebraska!

It's the spin-off I suggested months ago,  Hofstader Acres.
