Yes, there were lots of hints Penny regretted the break-up especially when she admitted it to Raj in the ill-fated 4x24 episode. However, I always had the feeling this would turn out okay because I thought Priya wasn't looking for a long term relationship just a companionship while she was in LA. She even admitted that to Leonard that she did not want to get into a serious relationship plus the fact her parents would not approve of her dating a non-indian guy. So, all things considered it turned out the way it should have. One thing they did not show and I was disappointed in not seeing is how Penny found out about their break-up and how she felt about it. I have to agree with your comment. It is way too late in the game to have her change occupations and chase her dream again. If this would happen where does that leave Leonard and their marriage?. It would not be a happy ending. The only plausible item I took from that article is they said maybe this is why Penny does not want children......she is still holding on to the hope of becoming an actress.
