The only plausible item I took from that article is they said maybe this is why Penny does not want children......she is still holding on to the hope of becoming an actress.  Plausible but not believable

I do find merit in your words!

Not really they could easily wrap this show up in one episode. So I don't see how in a fictional universe they coulden't plausibly make Penny a actress again and find fulfulment in her life she has been seeking since she was 19. Let's be honest she never got closure in her career. And I Don't think she likes being a Pharmaceutical rep. Its a bland and mundane thing she is doing. But she needs a passion.

I totally agree! The writers could do this, but the question is, do they want to do it?

I highly doubt that TPTB and the writers are going to make Penny a struggling actress again with so few episodes left.

Agreed. And at her age it might be a struggle. Bleached blond wanna be stars are a dime a dozen in California and Penny had very little success as an actress.

Here's an ending:

They're all in 4A for dinner. The babies are with Grandma and Grandpa.

Then the big one comes and they whole west coast is swept into the Pacific Ocean.

End Scene.

Reunion Movie (in 5 years): The building survived on a small chunk of land (sorta like Kandor) including the gas station on the corner, where all their food is from (Slim Jims galore). The last Slim Jim was eaten; who's first to be dinner?

Penny becoming a successful actress would be a bullsquirt plot on the same level as having Sheldon and Amy win a Nobel for bullsquirt science.

They made Sheldon a horny pants man. Ipso facto, they can do anything they wish. And at this stage they don’t have be plausible, at all. Nothing would surprise me, after the crushing of Leonard’s dream. Silly boy, he should have asked the kids question after The Holographic Excitation, while they were ... um “warming down”. Or any other time.

So, why not give Penny the career that kids may have interfered with, reality be damned.  No harder than what they did for Sheldon, formerly known as the first example of Homo Novus. The writers can do as they choose. And one of the Hofstadters could get what they really want.

Sidebar - why the issue with hair colouring? If I had hair to speak of I might colour it. And look at any female brunette friend over 50 who is still brunette. Might be good genes, might be because “she’s worth it”. AND the actor colours her hair in real life, not for the show, so this isn’t a comment about a character. She wears that hair at home too. :)

I have no problem with the hair color.

The issue is that a LOT of young women go blond apparently when they go to California to get into acting and there would be lots of competition.  Just a fact. Or at least that's what friends I have who live in California say. I concede I haven't done a study on it personally.

I really think you need to come to California and see for yourself before you make a comment like that. You might be surprised

That’s not the issue. It’s the actor’s own hair. Howard wears a “do” for the show so critique of his hairstyle is a character critique. However here it’s the same as criticism of the short hair cut Ms Cuoco sported during a period of her life at one time. I don’t see it as a valid comment about the character. Look at “Charmed” as a counter-example of female actors.  Not a blonde in sight. And if a role needed a brunette or a shaved head I’d guess Penny, if she really wanted it, would go dark or skin.

Visible boobs however, seem largely universal. Décolletage is a thing. :)

Well, he did ask another time and was told "Someday, yeah, sure!"

I don't want to open this can of worms again. But I always maintained that is not for me, to be convinced of Pennys commitment to children. If anything though if she changed her mind she should of told Leonard. As it is, whats done is done. The likelihood of them having kids is slim.

Well, the only blond on charmed was...Kaley.

Ok. Fair cop.  My kids had stopped watching by that late in the run, so .... ignorance. But they did have a long history of non-blondes. Anyway, having a hair colour change, or a cut, is pretty unremarkable. Unless you’re Samson.
