Ok so everyone seems to be interested in the leonard story, here's the 30,000 foot view. I wont give a play by play spoiler but it should be enough :)

So, episode opens with The gang on the couch, similar to "olden times" :).  They were discussing what movie to go to and where/when to eat dinner. Everyone had an opinion and Leonard did not want to eat late at night. Sheldon argued with him, Leo caved and the entire group told him he as "satisifier", as somone who does whatever anyone else wants to take the least path of resistance.  Afterwards, Penny continued to push Leo to see that the group is correct and to start doing what makes him happy, and to not take penny's feelings into account for things he wants to do.

So, Penny tells Leo to pick an activitiy, and he struggles with that. He also shows Sheldon the "new strong" Leo and takes a new way to work (or home, or somewhere, I don't remember) which frightens Sheldon.

What the real Pivot point of the episode in my opinion was that Leonard feels his job is inadequate, and he is unhappy. He writes a proposal to President Sibert (spelling) about leading up a plasma physics team, and he was not willing to take no for answer even if that meant leaving the university.  Penny found out and was rather upset, as any wife would when her husbands job might be in jeopardy and he argues with her about it.

In the end, President siebert said no and Leonard walked out.

The show ended with Penny discussing what happened with Leonard and it was revealed that after Leonard walked out, Siebert said they didn't want to loose him so gave him a Co-lead position on a different "study" (don't remember what is was about).  Leonard was happy with that and that he stood up for himself.

My take on this:  I feel they could have filmed an alternate ending, where Leonard was NOT offered a different position and come to find out that Leonard is going to leave to go to a different university.   IT would be a befitting ending to the show's dynamic, as he would be the first of the 4 to leave the university which could the the "end event".

Let me know if what I posted does not make sense.

Thanks so much for all info. It is very appreciated.

As you have pointed out before, not everyone watches Young Sheldon that watch TBBT...

You don’t have to watch YS to be aware of what’s happening on the show. JMO but knowing Shamy will have kids isn’t as newsworthy as the first time coitus

I will disagree with you gently. The outcry of Lenny fans on this topic was more than audible and widespread in the media (not only here). TPTBs, I'm pretty sure, will have heard it very well.

But I still think they didn't base everything on that being their endgame from the start the way a certain group of fans saw it, as a promise to come. And that doesn't mean they'll alter their plans now. The outcry has been virulent since the no baby storyline, but I think things were possibly set for the end of the season by then. I'm still not optimistic about it at all. Which is okay for me because I am a big no baby fan and always have been. I didn't want for romances or family drama. I tolerate Howardette's kids because we don't have to see them, but that's never been why I watched. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but as I said before I'm just not feeling it right now.

If Penny didn't know ahead of time that he was going to jeopardize his job to make a point, yeah, I think she'd be upset. Even if she told him not to take her feelings into account, for that I kind of think husbands need to. Is this another thing that they should have discussed as a couple? I'm not understanding all of this. I need to see it.

Thanks for the info. Two points though. Didn't Penny quit TCF? Doesn't Penny make the big bucks?

Yes, Penny did quit TCF and she does make big bucks, however, it would be a shock to any committed relationship to learn that your spouse is looking to quit their job without having a conversation first.  At least that's my opinion... :)

On a slightly different topic many were okay on her decision not to have children without Leonard’s input. I remember the episode where she had her own investment advisor when talking with Howdette. They were married then . Nobody said nothing.

See above. You were their at the episode. I’m guessing it pertained to how Leonard always backs down and acts wimpy. It sounds like he is encouraged not to. He doesn’t.  People always comment he doesn’t have a spine. This episode he appears not to and some complain. I remember Penny saying she liked take charge Leonard. Apparently not.

Leonard does sometimes have a "leap without looking" attitude.

TCF? Is that her and Bernie's Pharmaceutical company ? If so I missed that. I thought she just turned the other offer down and went back with Bernie...

No, he doesn't usually have a spine. So for him to do this is kind of out of character in my personal opinion. He's usually at least more cautious than tossing his livelihood to the winds as I see it. (Feel free to disagree.)  I can think of dozens of things I would rather have seen him defend himself for.  I didn't think he was that unhappy with his job, either. That was Penny for a long time. Now all of a sudden, she likes her job and he doesn't. I'm just not understanding that.

Again, I don't get that impression.

Think of a "freaky Friday" kind of a swap.. Where Leonard and Penny are working with Sheldon to temper his reactions to the 2 other scientists that are stealing their spotlight and Amy pulls a Sheldon.

Behind the scenes? do you mean in regard to the additional taping they were doing with audience members?

Anyone mess up a line? Were they crying, goofing around? I love that Johnny and Kaley talk to the audience...

Ahh.. yes there were a few flubs but only one really noteworthy.

Sheldon and Leonard were "driving" and Johnny messed up his line, which had the audience in hysterics. Jim Parsons Turned to the audience and said "When you F*** up at work does everyone laugh at you??"  and then he turned to Johnny and did a "golf clap" to him.   Was great :)

I highly doubt Lenny will move, they are glued firmly or perhaps even welded to the holy kitchen island in 4A by the TPTB.

I like to think of it as an homage to The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981).  Maybe they know Sheldon doesn’t have his spycam aimed at that.

It was a major bucket list item for my wife and I and we had been trying for tickets since the start of the taping season. We had a great time, both at the taping and with a mini getaway in LA and Malibu!
