The two fake awards you mention (or any fake one) means nothing. It could never aspire a gifted student to strive for. Sheldon (et al) winning a Nobel may. For you, it doesn't detract. For me it does. Even being a fictional situation in which a team (Sheldon and Amy) quickly publish a paper and have another team equally quickly produce results of testing proving the contents of the paper and then having a rush to nominate and (possibly) award the prize (again, to me) detracts from what the "real-life" Nobel Prize represents. Imagine the disappointment of a gifted student who is inspired by Sheldon and Amy to learn that, well, no. A Nobel Prize is not awarded within months of writing an amazing paper.
