Your opinion which is completely different than mine. So, as usual, we will definitely disagree here!

And didn't Leonard refer to the prophecy the night they were all sitting Halley when Michael was born ?

If they had at least done that there wouldn’t be all this complaining. But at this point there the number 3 couple on this show. We get forgettable Howdette kid stories and a never ending Nobel Prize storyline.

Would people have wailed if neither of those topics would of come up. At least Shamy had a storyline about it

Love the Howardette stuff. They are hilarious together. Always happy to see them on screen.

Bernadette is irritating. I suppose it could replace some of the Nobel Prize screentime. Of course paint drying would work.

Can't be all Lenny all the time...

No Howardette

No Shamy

No Raj

No Big Bang Theory

I saw a off the cuff joke.

Is that because they never mentioned it again?  Just as Leonard never mentioned kids again? And, of course, Penny being adamant about never having kids from the beginning.

LENNY ALL THE TIME, SOUNDS GREAT TO ME. BUT THEN, I'M A LENNY.  :sungum:

Wouldn't be TBBT... It takes everyone for this show.

NO IT WOULDN'T BE TBBT. IT WOULD BE TLAPS OR OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE LEONARD AND PENNY SHOW! I BELIEVE IT HAS A NICE RING TO IT!

By doing what ? Once married, people can't get more married than they are, can they ? What is progress as a married couple ?  Lenny don't have an old house to renovate together, neither of them being of a DIY inclination. They are not keen gardeners. There's no visible evidence of anything like that they can point to to show the progress of something they've started together, are getting on with, and will be useful or beautiful when finished. If they lived in Europe they might take classes in a foreign language together and enjoy using it as they build expertise and take trips abroad.  As it is, what could they do that makes them looks as though they progress ? They are both working and interact with colleagues separately but have friends in common. They have things to talk about and go to places together.

And i guess the writers think that way also as they are now scrambling to find them storylines because the show is ending and they all need closure.  I seem to recall Leonard asking Penny should they be looking forward in their marriage; like having kids or buying a house.  This is what i meant by progress, not being gardeners or do-it-yourselfers. Hopefully, all characters will have the happy ending they all deserve.

“Can’t be Lenny all the time”. Is it Season 6? Lol.

I could make an argument that stories were even back then but I get your point. 6 seasons of lopsided storylines.

Season 6 was my fav season from the series. Because the whole show was evenly balanced. And Lenny were so good. But I was just making a point, that its hardly had any Lenny since around Season 8.

It’s something like if Harry Potter ended up being about Neville Longbottom.

With nothing linear Lenny are doing together - Penny doesn't want kids or a house - it's hard to think of what else could be demonstrable as 'progress'. They are hardly ever shown doing anything together although they do occasionally mention where they've been and once reflected on not having been anywhere for a year. I get that a dozen or so writers are paid to dream something up but also that they never gave them any aims in the first place so it's hard at this stage.

Why have this storyline if they don't win ? it's like you said "a giant waste of time".

Perhaps because Sheldon will have learned something. He wanted and expected a Nobel but what he got was Amy and it has made him happier than the Nobel could have.

Sheldon wanting a Nobel Prize has been a long term life goal of his. Watching Season 6 atm. And he is constantly bringing it up. They just went about it in a half assed kinda way. I Feel TBBT is one of not the most unique sitcom of all time. And Science is vital to this show. And I felt they could of been a tad more accurate.

He already has Amy, surley he realized that. When he meet that Reclusive man living in the Woods? Did he not?

I fully expect the story to take unexpected unpredictable turns. The more everybody expects things to go in one direction the more likely it will go someplace else.

That's true : he's happy anyway now. Sheldon is a Curie fan and he would be delighted if like them Shamy got the award as a couple. However, if we think the writers are going to share life's good things out evenly in TBBT land by the end, getting a wife and a Nobel would mean Sheldon had one more than his friends ( and two more than Raj ) so we can't expect them to give him both. We've six weeks to find out. Personally I'd be over the moon to see Amy get this Nobel, but I'd love it if they pulled something out of their hats to give her one for her own work or the project she was doing with Howard.

My opinion means nothing. I just keep pointing out that this is what the writers seem to be doing and asking if anyone can show me evidence otherwise.

I think the fans responded to it and the writers played with it, but I don't think they took it seriously because they don't seem to care about it now when they should be wrapping things up. They seem to be going in a completely different direction, which I don't think they would have done if this was something the showrunners cared about. I could be wrong and they could suddenly decide to turn things around at the last second, but if they do, they've wasted a lot of time having Penny say she doesn't want kids and polarizing fans..

I don't need to show evidence. My opinion is my opinion. All the evidence in the world will not stop some people from continuing to argue the point. I'm too old and tired to get into those discussions anymore.

I just don’t think the Lenny story is going to end with a Leonard/Beverly story. I also don’t think Lenny is going to move out of 4a either. There is no reason. I don’t buy Leonard is going to get a job somewhere else after they made a big production to show Penny’s sales success. Status quo for Lenny IMO doesn’t make a good show ending. Not just for Lenny fans but viewers in general. People want a memorable finale but a few laughs too.
