I like this version of the Weird Al parody that puts young Luke (Hamill) at the beginning and old Luke (Hamill) in near the end.

This was amazing DJ.  Whoever put this together did a great job.  I get to go see Weird Al on June 5th, a Christmas present from my daughter.

Considering we are living in different parts of the world it does not seem that surprising.

If one makes the connection between Kirk and Shatner there are a lot of Kirk references in TBBT. See https://bigbangtheory.fandom.com/wiki/Captain_James_T._Kirk

There are also Luke references but I had to look for them. Again one has to make the connection to Mark Hamill.

from 1.01

from 2.05

from 2.23

from 7.12

from 7.14

from 7.22 (gets good as Penny starts to get involved in  making the references)

and

and

Of course Hamill was in 11.24.

Thank you. I learned a lot from that. You went to a lot of trouble.

Die, have you seen “The Good Place”?  Some of my twitter friends kept recommending it to me, finally checked it out and now, I’m getting hooked on it.

No. I don't have cable or Netflix, though. It's on Netflix, isn't it? I just do not watch a lot of TV.

IMHO, Chuck should have discussed with the cast before closing down the show!

Chuck, as producer, had made it clear if any of the main three left it was done. If Jim hadn't called it quits, I think Johnny would have. I think they were both ready to move on.

It's also on the NBC site, but there it's only the current season.

The cast had no say in the decision. That was all Chuck's. Johnny was leaning toward leaving, but the rest except Jim wanted to continue. I'm sure the show would have continued to good without Sheldon. IMHO, Chuck should have discussed with the cast before closing down the show!

Agreed i watched that interview because live in Australia it seemed johnny and kaley didn't have any say in the decision to me is a  bit selfish and i think when this show finish there is going to be a lot of backlash over it i just a hunch\\

Johnny may have wanted to, but I'm certain Kaley would have convinced him to stay. He still could have discussed going on without Jim!

If Chuck wanted to stick to what he said, why couldn't they just have got another producer ? Does he own TBBT ?

I think people will miss it, but will move on. Johnny also has mentioned in interviews before that the show wouldn't work without Sheldon....

Also, it wouldn't work without Leonard or Penny either...

Basically, yes.  Now if CBS wanted to cancel it Lorre might have been able to shop it around  I think Johnny is a pretty publically emotionally demonstrative  in real life (and Jim is less so) so he may be more emotional about it and Jim less so.  I base that  on the awkward hugs between Jim and the producers and others when Lorre won the lifetime achievement award, backslaps and hugs when the Big Bang stage was dedicated, and his general interactions with pretty much all the cast.  That said Johnny and Jim’s comments both seem to indicate it is time.  Kaley and Mayim seem to play lip service to going out on top etc.  It feels like the official line.   Mayim was all but campaigning for the show to stay on at the end of last season and beginning of this season so I think she is just being a good soldier.

I still believe Kaley could talk Johnny into another year or two, but not Jim.

I don’t think so. The only reason would be for the money. Certainly it would be a hard sell to Johnny since the Lenny storyline is basically non existent. And if I know that they know that. JP leaving made everyone look good. Chuck’s I’m not going on without all 3 is true. I also think Kaley’s all emotional while generally true IMO will be over quickly after the show ends. she also said she would do her role for another 20 years.

None of them need money.  If they are smart they are set for life.

Kaley would have been emotional whenever the show ended, that's just the type of person she is.  She wears her heart on her sleeve.

Yeah. but JP leaving opens the door for better Lenny story lines!

Kaley worked with these people (the cast and crew) for 12 years so it make sense why she be emotional.  I expect many of them will be  when they tape the final episode.  When you work together for 12 years you go through a lot together personally and professionally.

When has been the last good Lenny storyline? JP hasn’t saved  them lately. I don’t see how the future would be any different

As long as we are speculating- I know they said they wouldn’t go on without the big 3 but-  But, did anyone else find it curious that McCauley Culkin suddenly announced he had turned down a major role on TBBT 3 times , very very  shortly after the cancellation announcement.  It just seems likely to me that the last time could have been to replace Jim (not necessarily as Sheldon.)

I was under the impression that he was approached at the creation of the show.  Not later.

Also found it interesting that no one associated with the show confirmed or denied his claim. (As far as I know)

I didn't hear that story. I wonder why he turned it down ?

I don't. It's not like she owns him or can control his life. I really think he wants to do other things. Of course it's a fantastic amount of money for very little work, but I just think he's ready for a new challenge  and Johnny has definitely said the show would not work without Sheldon.

Well, we disagree again.
