[Spoilers] Season 12 Discussion Thread

Ew Shamy lol. Kidding. I don’t expect much for Lenny in the premiere or at any point this season. I think the past 6 seasons is evidence enough. It’s great ppl adore Shamy. I don’t dislike them. But I’ve had enough of this whole merry go Round. It’s tiresome.

Already Tuesday here :)

Happy taping day!

It"s been Tuesday here for almost 5 hours. Hopefully it will be a happy Taping Day. I'm hoping Lenny gets more than standing around gushing about shamy!

No need for me to watch except for Teller!

Teller was a great bit of casting.

I myself tend to find the taping reports rather depressing

I appreciate the people who take the trouble to do them very much.

I have no faith in Steve Holland and his writers to do anything except sweetness for shamy and the hell with everyone else.

I doubt if they actually said at any point "the hell with everyone else". They are putting everyone in every ep and fitting in the guest stars. In  a show running this many seasons the same few characters could not possibly get all the storylines. They have to take turns. I've said before...they probably did Lenny for so long they want to do something different. Obviously people who like Lenny best don't like that, but for fans who don't focus on the one ship there is no reason to be overly negative.

They've spent the last four seasons with most of the attention on the Shamy, It's time for something different , but will we get it? probably not.

I am sorry to disagree but you have to admit that at least the last  two seasons have been Sheldon/Shamy centric episodes.  Especially, season 11 where the first half of the season was mostly devoted to Howard & Bernadette's baby and the second half was primarily Sheldon/Shamy wedding plans and eventual wedding.  I did a quick search on the last two years episodes and found that out of the 48 episodes Sheldon/Shamy were the central plot in 27 of them and Lenny were the so-called primary plot only in 13 episodes!! The balance of the episodes were with Howardette, Raj, or an ensemble episode. Think this pretty much sums up the direction this show has taken.

90% of each episode evolves around Sheldon/shamy. That's freaking ridiculous. There are 7 main characters in the cast, not 2 with 5 recurring guests.

Mario pointed out what's happened in the last two years (actually last four years).  But lets got back to season 6, by all accounts a Lenny year.  Depending on how you define plot or include major scenes, in season six, there were 12-16 episodes with a Lenny plot.  there were also 10-14 Shamy episodes.  Even Season three, the year Leonard and Penny were together, there were nine Leonard and Penny plots and 6 Sheldon and Penny plots.  And a couple of the Lenny plots included Sheldon as a major part of the plot (The Guitarist Amplification, for example).

And HAPPY DAYS was supposed to be about Richie Cunningham and his family (Howard, Marion, Chuck and Joanie). The 2nd half of it's run was mostly about the bad boy, Fonzie.

Apples and oranges! Even in Happy Days it was equally distributed. Sure as the series progressed Fonzie became more in the episodes. But, The Cunningham's and the rest of the gang had impacts on each episode as in TBBT now. Now it's all about Sheldon/shamy.

I'm sorry, but your story distribution math is wrong. It's the same as Happy Days. There were few 2nd plots on an episode. TBBT has them, sometimes 3.

It certainly wasn't evenly distributed.

I wish we were back in time when the fans liked the show.

I agree, but who are the fans? You, me, any others? I seriously don’t know, but I'm like to discuss about everything.

Looking forward to the first taping of season 12. I hope we get some spoilers or a taping report.

Same here! :shy:

Of course it doesn't matter if we get a detailed taping report or just a little spoiler. Any information is welcome and is never taken for granted. I think I can say on behalf of the forum community, that we are grateful for every tiny little bit of information someone likes to share with us. :icon_biggrin:

If you have been before to a taping or if this is your first time attending I hope that if anyone from here is going tonight whether a poster or more a forum lurker that browses and doesn't actively post, I hope you have a fantastic time.

For many it's a huge deal/big dream getting to watch a live taping of one of your favourites shows and I hope the experience will be as amazing as it can possibly be. 😊

Excellent call @BigBang15 !  I have thought this for years: likening the Sheldon character to that of Fonzie.  I would even remark that TBBT has "jumped the shark".  I only hope that Johnny doesn't go the way of Ron Howard and leave before the series ends.......
