It doesn’t have to be a competition between us and our ships for who gets the gig. Couldn’t care less who does but Kaley and Johnny makes sense. I’m just happy to have a retrospective to walk down memory lane. I enjoyed the Seinfeld one and I’m sure I’ll enjoy this one in which we will see plenty of every one in the highlights reel. KC/JG will probably get as much on screen time in this as they have in the show as Lenny the last few years! Kidding! Ignore that snark

I believe most interviewers want them because of their easygoing style and banter between them, their obvious connection with the audience and their longtime relationship history with each other. They truly are tv's royal couple.

Chuck Lorre let it be known (previous to this year) that if any of the Main 3 left, he would end the show. So Jim knew it. Everyone says how he's distancing himself from TBBT, but in fact, he's the only one that will still be connected via YOUNG SHELDON. THAT, I see as selfish. He still has a revenue flow that came from TBBT while the rest will have to go (and get) new jobs. He could have talked to the others (at least Kaley & Johnny) before doing what he did. There is no report that says he did talk to them.

 

And Jim and MAYIM were not the main characters. Jim was one of the Three Mains.

Re: the bold portion:  That original post @BigBang15 mentioned was more of the back and forth battle of the ships going on.......  I mean no offense in any way to any of the actors, but Johnny and (especially) Kaley are more at ease in an interview setting.  All of the actors are splendid in interviews, but J & K seem to be able to ebb and flow with each other and feed off of what the other is saying just  a little more naturally.  They also have the ability to "zing" each other without it seeming out of place or mean.  My observation is that Jim and Mayim are a bit more reserved in interviews.  They do have a good time bouncing things off one another, but there is more of an ease and a sense of comfort with Johnny and Kaley.  Also, I don't think it will be an in depth conversation.  I imagine they will be there to talk about the entirety of TBBT and introduce clips, etc.  More of a friendly chat.  I didn't see an interviewer when Kaley posted the photo on her Instagram account.  Just my general thoughts....

They get very silly...sometimes it is nice to have a little seriousness. I have never learned much from thier interviews together. They tend to go off topic a lot. That said, I am anxious to see it. I can always hope they can show me something I didnt know before.

Too silly for my style. They have no ability to stay on track or truly answer questions.

I'm trying to remember, but wasn't it the interview for an Australian version of The Today Show where Jim and Mayim were having a great time and enjoying the interview they were doing? Some teasing and a sense of enjoyment? A bit of fun for them in whatever recent interview in which they were involved.  So glad to see things percolating in the press and online and everywhere else as we wind things up.....Sure will miss TBBT!!!

My post is not a personal attack on them. Just explaining my preferences., That a little silly goes a long way. I am sure Johnny and Kaley will do a great job. I will be watching of course.

No worries.  Not an attack.  All is positive only from me.  All cast, crew tptb can have fun when they "meet the press" in whatever way they want.   Always refresing

He is not at all selfish

BBT is over tonight so no one will no longer be connected. 

We have no proof he didn't talk to them, not every little thing they do is publicized. They have been doing this show for twelve years He has prepared himself all along for the future, which all cast mates could have also done. And from what I have heard other posters have said Kaley and Johnny have projects lined up, besides the fact Johnny has also wanted to leave the show.

Did you miss the part where I showed how Parsons is still connected (and earning money) from TBBT? He is EP and VO for YOUNG SHELDON.

I’m not going to watch it but surely it will be repeating what Johnny and Kaley have said at recent events. Kaley will probably retell that story for the 50th time about how she got injured filming or something.

In recent years they have been reminiscing about the show at places like Paleyfest and this will be no different. Nothing new to tell really.

Still it might be a nice enough send off for parts of the fan base.

All I'm saying his he told Lorre and Lorre announced it to a surprised cast at the first table read of the season. He can make any decision he wants. But he will receive pay weekly by still being Sheldon (albeit as a VO).

I probably will but purely due to the fact I like Johnny & Kaley's interactions during interviews. I expect them both just to talk about there favourite moments on the show. We won't really get much unless it's been scripted.

Agree 100%. Johnny and Kaley (who was the only actress at the time on the show other than Sara Gilbert but she wasn't ever  really part of the show) were there from episode 1 so it only fitting that they are the one to host the retrospective. I am sure there will be scenes or some backstage stuff with the other cast.
