[Spoilers] Season 12 Discussion Thread

What I hope will happen..................

Now they are married and we know that sex is something that both Amy and Sheldon enjoy and Sheldon has shown how much he loves her, we go back to funny, weird, unique Shamy and all their crazy interactions without the tension of not having a relationship like the rest of us and Amy whining about it. Invent replacements for Fun with Flags and Counter factuals, push their interactions on their pre wedding ceremony science discovery with and without the others. I don’t need Shamy to consider parenthood straight after a marriage when it’s still an after thought for Lenny 3 years into marriage.

3 years into marriage, even if it doesn’t eventuate, a season long Lenny arc where there is real development in a future in moving to a house like Howardette, real discussion about children and the challenges of it, Penny getting that PR job and maybe directing and acting in ads for the company’s products, Leonard getting real success that even Sheldon and his mother can’t dismiss and a return to Lenny physical attraction as they try for kids ( and just because they don’t have to behave like their 50 year olds in a 25 yr old marriage)

Howard gets some success in his career a la space trip arc, maybe connected to Raj’s astrophysics career ( or is he just a Planetarium presenter now, a job I could do with a script). Something that puts him financially equal to Bernadette and she struggles with not being the superior in the relationship. At the same time, Bernie creates something at work as well. Yeah I want science back as the focus - other than Raj, the relationship thing is done and Raj is almost a confirmed failure now with even Stuart having more prospects after the Shamy wedding. Get rid of pathetic Raj through a science achievement.

In terms of the ensemble, I’d like the boys to finally win over the three girls to their way of life in some way. I liked that Penny subconsciously embraced some of that nerdy stuff (loved the Star Wars stuff in the Proton funeral ep) throughout the show but Amy and Bernie have always been rather dismissive of it apart from that Thor comic plot. As fellow scientists they have always been able to connect with their men but I think it would be fun to see them give the nerd culture a go in a few stories and not just through a bit of cosplay at a party. On the other hand I have no problem with the boys being engaged with the girls interests too but they’ve never really been as obvious.

What I think will happen........

The Shamy love story continues as the connection between Young Sheldon ( which I like as a show) and BBT Sheldon develops

Lenny continue as content couple with nothing really happening other than feeding lines to Shamy and reacting to the latest shenanigans of Number One.

Howardette continue to deliver some cracking one liners and hilarious cameos without moving outside the quintessential old married couple with kids plot.

Raj and Stuart to continue on their battle for most pathetic character while continuing to make we laugh awkwardly.

Guest stars that succeed and fail.

Continued lack of continuity.

Rehashed storylines that will make me laugh but not enjoy as much.

Me still enjoying the show but still longing for the Golden years of seasons 1-6.

I'd love even a passing reference by Leonard and/or Sheldon. It would be great to see them excited about science again? He's proven that he can't be trusted when it comes to projects. He always wants the credit for the work.

But would Leonard want to work with Sheldon again? He (Sheldon) always wants to take the majority of the credit for the projects.

I wouldn't object to Leonard alone following up on this development. I am very emphatic in my desire to see Leonard get his just rewards this season. It could also mean a solo trip to the site of the discovery - in other words, away from both Penny and Sheldon, and enjoying both complete understanding and appreciation of his talents.

I have to agree. As much as I love Lenny, Penny needs to be more supportive of Leonard and less worrying about Sheldon. That's Amy's job especially since she married him.

Amy can, to a great degree, understand and appreciate Sheldon's intellect. Penny can be supportive, but Leonard needs a kindred soul who can understand his abilities and unlike Sheldon, value them.

IMO there can never be full #JusticeForLeonard from within this group. That's one reason I'd love to see Stephen Merchant back. Dave knows how brilliant Leonard is and gives him the appropriate adulation.

I liked the way Dave gushed over Leonard as well as Sheldon. I was glad to finally see some recognition for Leonard.

Yes! That was a great part of that episode. Just as Leonard was so enthusiastic about Professor Protron how he equally inspired Leonard toward science AND that Arthur Jeffries sought out Leonard for help on a project. Of course in the world it’s all Sheldon, Sheldon, Sheldon....

I get sick of all the Sheldon crap that is shoved down my throat. I like Sheldon, but I want the show to be as it were in season 1 - 6. Back then it was entire cast centric, now it's Sheldon centric. Everything revolves around the big baby of the group. I wish the writers would let him grow up. I mean, he's married and still acts like a big baby. That's why I like the Episode 10/9, where he kept hurting him self and 11/18 with Bill Gates, where he was ran all over town trying to meet Mr Gates.
