Excellent call @BigBang15 !  I have thought this for years: likening the Sheldon character to that of Fonzie.  I would even remark that TBBT has "jumped the shark".  I only hope that Johnny doesn't go the way of Ron Howard and leave before the series ends.......

I think Johnny was ready to leave the last. Probably talked into staying by his good friend Kaley.

Chuck probably would just pull a TAAHM

If you have been before to a taping or if this is your first time attending I hope that if anyone from here is going tonight whether a poster or more a forum lurker that browses and doesn't actively post, I hope you have a fantastic time.

For many it's a huge deal/big dream getting to watch a live taping of one of your favourites shows and I hope the experience will be as amazing as it can possibly be. 😊

Indeed ! Best Wishes for a Wonderful Time to anybody who's going.  If you get the chance to let us know what you've seen, that will be appreciated, but  don't feel you have to if it will take away from your enjoyment.

And HAPPY DAYS was supposed to be about Richie Cunningham and his family (Howard, Marion, Chuck and Joanie). The 2nd half of it's run was mostly about the bad boy, Fonzie.

Let honest, Fonzie save the show for being to much like The Brady Bunch or The Partridge Family which were both corny and cheesy as you can get. And the cast certainly had not complaints.  And that why happy days is a lot better of a show then those two I just mentioned

Mario pointed out what's happened in the last two years (actually last four years).  But lets got back to season 6, by all accounts a Lenny year.  Depending on how you define plot or include major scenes, in season six, there were 12-16 episodes with a Lenny plot.  there were also 10-14 Shamy episodes.  Even Season three, the year Leonard and Penny were together, there were nine Leonard and Penny plots and 6 Sheldon and Penny plots.  And a couple of the Lenny plots included Sheldon as a major part of the plot (The Guitarist Amplification, for example).

Make the Big Bang Theory "Great" Again with more Lenny Plots!  I find the idea of a season 13 absolutely insane inmo.  Is the cast worried?   The show has run out of steam.  Should have ended after season 9 or 10 realistically.

Actually, Happy Days had a lot going for it, more so than The Brady Bunch or The Partridge Family.  Happy Days swam on the wave of nostalgia fueled by American Graffiti (Directed by George Lucas Produced by Francis Ford Coppola, btw).  The acting talent on Happy Days was a bit better than TBB or TPF.  With Ron Howard, Tom Bosely and Marion Ross, all veteran television performers.  Henry Winkler was classically trained and received an MFA from Yale University (I believe he was there just before Meryl Streep).  Yes TPF featured Shirley Jones an Academy Award winning actress but the known talent stopped there.

Would it have lasted as long without Fonzie being brought to the forefront?  Would TBBT be entering a 12th season without Sheldon being shoved to center stage?  Who can say?  Another interesting thing to think about and to discuss....

I wish we were back in time when The Big Bang Theory had young blood and was funny

Not me. Whenever they show early episodes in the TBBT slot now, I switch the TV off. I used to like them but now my reaction is, 'I don't want to know what nonsense my favourite characters got up to when they were young' . Perhaps it's my age showing. Two years or so ago when I saw an old episode I found it poignant knowing how things would turn out. Now I'm used to thinking of them as all grown up, apart from Raj who turned out not to be the sweetie I thought he was, I don't find TBBT The Younger Years  fun at all. Goes to show how tastes differ.

Being a Penny/Leonard fan, I love to look back at some of the older episodes where there was a distinct push and pull; an ebb and flow.  Penny fighting the fact that she loved Leonard, nearly as early as he loved her (thank you sooooo much for The Bitcoin Entanglement!!!)

I'm a little confused. As far as I know, you like Young Sheldon, don't you?

I have no idea about the movies which were mentioned, but based on my long experience and not least enthusiasm of our comedy discussed here for a long time, I would be really interested in the opinions to your addressed consideration.

I think TBBT would have gracefully ended without Sheldon Cooper being shoved down our throats. They could have done episodes like when Lenny was in the fore front. Almost equally divided amounts of time. But no, we have been subjected to larger amounts of Cooper with all the other recurring cast members revolving around Sheldon/shamy! Now with "YS", we know that Sheldon doesn't have an eidetic memory, because everything he thought he remembered about his childhood was wrong. His whole life prior to meeting Leonard was a lie.

It seems that in previous years the plotlines were evenly distributed.........so when did it become the Sheldon/Shamy show?   A good question for the producers/writers....think they would have the brass to answer it?

So far, yes. Nine-year-olds behaving like nine-year-olds I find OK. If the series is still going and they're repeating the early episodes in ten years time, who knows.

The deciding factor is the hero's credibility.

They've spent the last four seasons with most of the attention on the Shamy, It's time for something different , but will we get it? probably not.

From the showrunners point of view why shouldn't they do more Shamy? This is how I think THEY see it...the ratings are high for TBBT and YS. The advertisers for both are paying top dollar. To THEM everything is going great. The show's facebook page lavishes them with praise. Why should they worry about a few fans who don't agree is probably how they feel.  I'm not getting into whether or not that's fair. But I absolutely think it's how they feel.

Someone does or they wouldn't have the ratings, advertising dollars and facebook comments they do, as I just said.  You can't please everyone all the time.

I felt like that when I saw the robot ep recently where Penny screams at Howard that he is pathetic and no woman will ever flirt with him and he will grow old and die alone. Yes, he was being an ass, which he did frequently back then, but once again I found it so over the top vicious I was appalled.

Personally, I don't care about the producers, director, show runner or writers. By the time TBBT airs, College Football will be on TV. I'll continue with what I do now. Record, Fast Forward, watch Lenny then delete episode. Everyone's happy. These days I find watching College Football preferable to watching TBBT. Only two episodes I watched the entirety of in Season 11. That's The Bitcoin Episode and The Bill Gates Episode. Nothing else warranted my attention for the whole episode.

IMO Lenny plots don't add anything I am interested in watching. I always found Penny as a foil for Sheldon more interesting.
