Big Bang Theory Shocker: The Story Behind That Surprising Split

Anu for all her good points didn't quite gel. I loved Howard's confidence that a woman with tastes in common with Raj's was around somewhere. I'm trying to remember if Lucy was into Raj's favourite things. Perhaps the final tag scene is Raj meeting somebody who might suit him and then we'll spend the next few years wondering what he'll do to her to screw it up, or even whether he'll get it right for once.

So the Anu storyline really was just there to keep things occupied (which is better than Raj doing no relationships but yeah that brings Season 12 down another notch)

Raj will meet a new friend in the finale however, possibly someone who likes everything he likes, doesn't specify girl or guy though

Mitch was a fun obstacle for Stuart/Denise, glad the move-in thing from Paintball got resolution

Tonight episode was the best this season imo. Great acting on Johnny part especially in the last scenes. Interesting to see how much Howard has changed from the pilot. Glad Raj didn't go after Anu and listen to Howard.  Raj need to find a women who is interested in same stuff (or at least support) as he as long as he does not find a way to screw it up  Glad to see Stuart will have a happy ending.

Looking forward it next week series finale.

I don't agree with any of that. From my point of view he is great at being exasperated, ironic and sarcastic. As usual I did not find the other emotions convincing.

Aww I wish they kept the touching foreheads shot

I'm surprised they did give some information away after all. I'm guessing they travel to Stockholm for the Nobel reception...? Only one week! So weird!

Not sure what's so surprising and shocking about it. The writers didn't really try to make this a believable relationship in the first place.

I personally think there was huge potential but for some reason they'e so uncreative when it comes to Raj.

I don't know...something in the phrasing of 12.24 episode  ("Sheldon and Amy stick together") make me think they don't get the Nobel prize in 12.23; maybe the travel is a trip all the gang take to cheer them up for the bad news, or maybe 12.24 is set a couple of years after the events of 12.23 and Shamy that year do get the Nobel prize; something that has always annoyed me about this plot, among many many many other things, is that the Nobel Prize usually doesn't go to the latest achievements in a subject, people do get recognized years after their work was published...Also very curious about Lenny's secret. A baby? Are they moving?

I really don't like how everything was so crammed together and no one seemed to care that Raj was leaving, especially Howard-- till the very end.

Stuart and Denise were cute--happy they smartened up and are taking their relationship to the next level. Hate that they make Leonard's mom so cold and mean but they did a half way decent job but nothing too deep that would make me want to watch the show again.

IT’S AN END AND A BEGINNING, ON THE SERIES FINALE OF “THE BIG BANG THEORY,” THURSDAY, MAY 16

“The Change Constant” –Sheldon and Amy await big news, on the series finale of THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, May 16 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

“The Stockholm Syndrome” – Bernadette and Wolowitz leave their kids for the first time; Penny and Leonard try to keep a secret; Sheldon and Amy stick together; and Koothrappali makes a new friend, as the gang travels together into an uncharted future, on the series finale of THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, May 16(8:30-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

I thought the scenes with Johnny ane Christine had the right amount of power and emotion. Good acting too.

I am glad they ended the relationship with Raj/Anu. I did not think she was a dislikeable character. But, there was no spark or chemistry between them. It felt the whole premise was a relationship of convenience. I hope with the finale Raj meeting a new friend can give justice to his character given how much he has developed.

My gut feeling is Amy and Sheldon don't win the Nobel this time. But, stick together and move on.

Howard/Bernadette leaving the kids could be linked with a family death perhaps???. His Dad is ill or passes away.

For Penny/Leonard it might have something to do with pregnancy. Perhaps, Penny is infertile she can't have children. They decide to adopt kids. Also, it could be work related where they have to move away etc.

Just like my thoughts, too. 🙂

I think a big hint came from the promo for next week's Young Sheldon season finale.  Much like we found out about Shamy kids on YS, I think we find out about Shamy Nobel in the same way.

Did I found some analogy here?

H: Oh, yeah, I would have forgotten, except for those nonrefundable airline tickets to India I bought.
R: I’m sorry.
H: No, no. What's $3,000 between friends?

S12/E15

R: How'd you get past security?
H: I had to buy a ticket. You owe me 1,300 bucks.

S12/E22

Do the writers have any more jokes they can unwrap twice in the finale?

Is it?  😉

Christine was flat out amazing and Leonard played against her very well. Yes, Leonard, people are what they are.  And I see the whole thing as more confirmation that what they do directly tell us, we need to believe. Beverly said the research wasn't over and it wasn't. But they managed to make peace with each other over it.

I loved getting back up from Bernadette that a spouse best friend isn't the same as a same sex best friend. I've said that for ages. But I think it's sad they look like they are leaving Raj hanging. So Anu was just a waste of time so Howard could show that Raj is his best friend and he loved him? Ugh.

Denise and Stuart ruled it. And the creepy roommate. He was darned near perfect. But having the nerdy girl and nerdy guy conversation was great and them saying I love you was sweet.

Hoping they stick with no kids for Lenny.  They have done nothing to show she has changed her mind about wanting kids. No further discussions.  It would seem forced and unfair to push Penny into having kids that she really does not want. Leonard has personally felt the pain of an indifferent mother. Would he really want Penny to have kids that she might end up resenting to please him? I still feel she has never expressed a true desire for kids. My guess is they keep a secret for one of thier friends, to me,  this would be much more in line with their characters.

If in the finale episode, where everyone has their own big plot twists, Lenny try to keep someone else’s secret, that will be ridiculous. They deserved their happily ever after, and if Penny does get pregnant, IMO, she’ll be an amazing mother no matter what (like she proved it with Sheldon throughout the seasons and with Halley in S11). She’s caring and sweet, so their kid would be really lucky.

I agree with this.

As much as I despise the donation storyline, IF it could change Penny's mind into wanting kids, and then to put an end to this ridiculous story arc, and to give Lenny a happy ending, it could be a means to an end, I'm willing to let the donation storyline slide.

But, it got worse than I thought, it did nothing to change Penny's mind...then why did you write it, TPTB?

That being said, considering the pattern of "flip flop writing in this season" as @ShamyScience said it perfectly, I actually think they might change Penny's mind into wanting kids in the very last episode - like snap your fingers - like that, and then Penny would be happily pregnant, and she would say something like "Oh, I've always wanted to have kids, you don't know?" LOL.

I think, if the writers let Lenny have kids, they’d go with the classic ‘afraid of commitment and responsibility’ Penny. Besides, it’s okay for a woman to change her mind. It’s okay to want kids and then change your mind, just like it’s okay to don’t want kids and then change your mind 🤷🏼‍♀️
