That being said, considering the pattern of "flip flop writing in this season" as @ShamyScience said it perfectly, I actually think they might change Penny's mind into wanting kids in the very last episode - like snap your fingers - like that, and then Penny would be happily pregnant, and she would say something like "Oh, I've always wanted to have kids, you don't know?" LOL.

Well, they changed her mind into not wanting kids in a 'snap your fingers' kind of way...

Then why give us a convincing I don't want kids story arch. Seems like time wasted if they suddenly want her to happily have kids. If that is what they wanted in the end they should have used some time to show changing of mind. I still hope they stick to the no kids arch, but who knows. This will be as unrealistic to me as some people feel about Shamy and the Nobel if she suddenly expresses a strong desire to have kids.

There was nothing convincing about that in my eyes. It was a sudden flip out of thin air.

My gut feeling is Amy and Sheldon don't win the Nobel this time. But, stick together and move on.

 .

I could see Sheldon and Amy not winning the Nobel this time.  The people at the  Nobel Prize may  decide they don't trust any of them after the whole thing with  Pemberton even though it wasn't Sheldon and Amy fault. It may be that  the season finale of Young Sheldon (airing af after the Series Finale) will give us a hint as to when  (or if ever) Sheldon and Amy do eventually win a Nobel if they don't get one in the series finale.

It seems ridiculous to me that the one woman on the show that has shown repeatedly to have the best instincts to be a mother is the one who doesn’t want kids.  Bernadette never wanted kids and it almost submarined her marriage but she now has two.  Amy at first wanted kids to experiment on with Sheldon, but now because the purposeful overlap of TBBT and YS we know Shamy will have kids too.  However, Penny who as mothered the guys throughout the series, heck the first three seasons could just as well been called “Penny and her Nerds” instead of TBBT, suddenly does not want anything to do with kids.  I’m really hoping that in the final we find that she is just scared, scared because life is moving on and she again feels unready, that would fit her character and it would allow Leonard to help her get over her fear.  So, in the end, their secret is that Penny is pregnant and they are both happy about it.

I think it's really ironic that they could write decent storylines for Stuart and Denise:  we saw their development, their fight, their make-up, and their ILUs.

Yet, at the same time, they couldn't put the same effort into writing Raj and Anu...

Actually how hard was that?

Let me see: Anu could be a huge fan of Sandra Bullock, she could dance like Beyonce in "single ladies",  she could quote any romantic movies, and she could cook better than Raj...And, when the time comes, she could propose to Raj like Sandra Bullock did in the movie "The Proposal".......

Just like Denise, being a weirdo herself, was a huge fan of comic books, knew every reference that Stuart said, loved him for he was, and was willing to have a future with Stuart.

Sigh, once again, this differential treatment told me that when TPTB WANT to do something, they really CAN do it right.

Every couple is different I guess is the point.  Raj had Girlfriends who were interested (and supported his hobbies)  in the same stuff as he was but always screwed  it up

We only have one week to find out the answers. I am excited, nervous and sad all at the same time when thinking about how it all will end. Not ready to let go, but yes I kind of am...

What is sort of more painful are to see all the ads and stories about it coming to an end, treating it like a celebration when some of us feel like it is a funeral of an old friend.

Yes Raj had his opportunities, but the writers didn't allow it to happen. As I've said in a previous post months ago, the writers giveth and the writers taketh away.

I agree with your frustation. They went through this no kids storyline and it just faded out. I felt the whole Zac surrogacy thing was pointless. However, a possible relevation could be she unintentionally gets pregnant. Penny freaks out and Leonard tries to stay calm and keep the secret. I could imagine some funny comedy with the plot line. Something happens in the final episode then ultimately she decides to have the baby after all cue the final tag scene perhaps.

I know not everyone agrees, but at least it is a happy ending for the couple. Also, think it harps back to Leonards famous saying in the pilot 'our children will be smart and beautiful'.

It mostly the same. A few different clips of past episodes were sued is only man difference.  They are being very careful not to put clips for the finale in the promo!

They don't want any spoilers to get out. TPTB want us to wait till the 16th to find out what happens!

You right. Interesting that in contrast when Friends was ending NBC showed clips of the Final Episode in promos

I guess it's different strokes for different shows!

okay thanks for the info :)

I'm kinda enjoying this whole secretive thing they are doing when it comes to the finale. it makes it more exciting and it will probably attract a larger audience

I agree.

As for them keeping someone else's secret that is done ALL THE TIME on this show, usually unsuccessfully, as in the recent secret of Leonard trying to report the plagiarism and Penny finally spilling to Amy.

I've said this for ages, especially if he's going to get a baby as a consolation prize and I do think that's probable.

I hope they don't make it so Leonard and Penny reveal that they are having a baby in the finale. Penny has made it very clear she doesn't want kids and for them to just throw that to the wind isn't fair to the character, the show or to the fans

Bernadette didn't want kids either for the longest time. People do  change their minds and accidents do happen.  There are many people who  don't want children that end up pregnant and are often times  end up love being a parent

The First Child  is often not planned.

I don't think the show is known for its fairness to all the characters

They threw her previous desire to have kids (that may not have been incredibly strong but was there for years)  to the wind, which wasn't fair to the character, the show and the fans.

I totally agree. If they do that they've been screwing with the fans all season and it's not a nice thing to do, plus, I don't think they have time in the finale to handle that correctly and explain why things have changed for her. I could be wrong, it happens all the time, but I will be super pissed if the whole thing is resolved in a couple of minutes.

I guess this is another topic we disagree on!  They have been screwing we fans for years.
