I can understand your attitude and point of view very well. With regard to the article I've linked to, I consider the author's view to be rather neutral and plausible. The headline may seem a bit provocative out of commercial reasons, well... 😉

Yeah, the article mostly said the season has been uneven, there has been so much dedicated to Shamy's SA/Nobel plot and others have been neglected. The title was just overly provocative.

You mean like much of  the last five years?

From usatoday.com

'The Big Bang Theory' co-creator Chuck Lorre, right, handles the slate marking the final taped scene of the 12-season CBS comedy as actor Johnny Galecki watches.

So the penultimate scene (last one shown to the audience) is in one of the gang's hotel rooms... Funny they're in the 4th floor there as well! I wonder if the elevator's working...

I guess this proves correct that Lorre wouldn’t continue without any of his principal cast. He does not completely rule out a sequel here but it certainly is not happening soon - if ever.

If there was appetite for a 13th season, why were they only given a two-year contract to follow season ten ?

Probably to wait and see how the two years panned out--with ratings and all...

Exactly.  Shows ending their tenth season generally start to tank, in the ratings.  CBS was protecting themselves from that, only to discover that the ratings stayed high, and they could have given them another three year extension.  I would have like to see one more year, to feed my need for symmetry.   They got a one year renewal, after season one.  A two year after season 2, and a three year after season four and seven.  The two year, after season 10, if followed by a one year for a 13th season, would have followed this pattern for renewals, after the first season:

1

2

3

3

Yes, I have a history of OCD.  Here's to putting your M & Ms in piles of the same color.   😝

That reminds me. I'd post a link to something I heard on the radio in the middle of the night if I could remember where I heard it. If I come across it again, I'll post it. A scientist was answering questions about the beginnings of the universe. Someone had asked how creation could have happened since matter and anti-matter are equal so that they cancel each other out. The scientist said it was because the symmetry wasn't perfect, there was very slightly more matter than anti-matter. This effect,he said, was called super-asymmetry.  I'd have phoned in and asked if he'd discovered the fact at a wedding but I was too tired. Who knew it was real all the time ? I didn't.

With 15-20 million fans (I guessing the Finale Episode will get between 20-30 million), you are  not gonna make everyone happy.  There are going to be people on Friday who either will love the finale or be totally disappointed with it an and  I am sure The Producers, Writers and cast are fully aware of that. You can't make everyone happy all the time and everyone wants something different.

Jessica Radloff has a cameo in the finale or, better,  in 12.23, judging by these pics and Amy/Mayim's hair...I must say, I didn't see that coming at all, LOL!

Very nice of them to give her a cameo

I think the majority of the audience will be happy with the finale. I suspect Shamy shippers will too as they are likely to see Shamy either win the Nobel Prize. Or announce a pregnancy or both. Lenny shippers well i don't know. But i think there was an interview with a showrunner were they said Lenny fans wouldn't get what they imagined. So for Lenny fans it's a guess if we'll be happy, apathetic or pissed off.

After seeing the increase for the final ratings for several other big shows, my guess is a minimum of between a 3.5 - 3.9  demo, with 19 - 23 million.   That would be about 175% of their season average.  For example Friends finished at around  190% of their season average (  in demo, 12.5 was their season average, the final was a 24.1)

TBH  I would not mind seeing a reunion show/episode in about a year or so. Just to see where they all ended up after the finale.

I don't know that I'd watch it. For me it was the ensemble and ensemble eps that made it worthwhile. I wish there had been more of them. What an ensemble they had!
