It was too much for me. I love Sheldon to death. But his reaction to Amy and her makeover ruined killed it for me. Even in the part two episode he couldn't have said how nice she looks? Not a warm hug to congradulate each other? I think on bright side will be easier for me to walk away from the show and not watch so many reruns.

What other reaction does one expect from Sheldon. He hates change. This was a big one. Along with the attention he's getting for winning. Then, there was a two month gap between Part 1 and Part 2. I'm sure he hugged and congratulated her during that time.

I think they were trying to push the Sheldon does not like change thing, but they went too far.  It should have been Amy talking through his problem at the Cheesecake Factory, not Penny, not now anymore, Amy is his wife and they have been married a year now, he should be getting comfort from her.

Nope. Penny is his (female) confidant. Amy was (one of ) the cause(s) of his problem (the big changes she made to herself). That doesn't change just because you get married.

Kind of like all the off screen things that lenny did for 4 seasons

Good point.

But I guess they needed a reason for Penny to get hammered and end up pregnant . God, I hate how they did this.

I don't even care for Penny, but her character deserved better.

Penny's happy about it. I don't know why people are upset. It fulfilled the prophecy.

And... in real life, your attitude towards things DO change. Especially with the way this happened.

Some women, who showed NO maternal instincts whatsoever, on becoming pregnant switch.

I'm not saying all.

But, TBBT is not a political statement, so they did not have to continue on with the line that Penny says she doesn't want kids.

Abortion exists. It felt cheap and disrespectful to Penny. Sure her life turned out fine, but she really has no identity outside of being Leonard's trophy. No last name except for her husband's and having kids she didn't want  initially. Why even have her say she doesn't want kids ? It was lazy and a waste of time.

If Penny really minded being pregnant she'd have taken a morning-after pill when she sobered up and realised she'd risked it. Maybe her belief in leaving things to fate resurfaced.  Once it had happened she changed her mind, obviously. Millions of women do. Pity that air time when they could have talked about it earlier was taken up with the silly Zack storyline.

They screwed up with the not wanting kids plot early in the season, just like they screwed up with Raj sleeping with Penny and Leonard kissing another girl while away from Penny so like usual they do something half-ass to fix it and move on.

In her right mind Amy would have warned Sheldon she was going for a haircut and new glasses to give his brain a chance to get into 'Wowzer' mode, or even into a scared state that wouldn't turn out to be as bad as he feared. She's worn a dress-and-jacket ensemble before but a change of physical appearance is a big deal for any spouse and hers is Sheldon. She knows he thinks her usual look is beautiful anyway. She just wasn't thinking straight : she was somewhat in shock herself, otherwise I'd be cross with her.

I did not like that Raj did not get his happy ending.  I also wanted to see Howard reconnect with this father and earn his Ph.D.  I guess these may be plots for a Big Bang movie if they decide to do that. Also, I think I wanted to see Laurie Metcalf in the finale at the Nobel ceremony.

Yes. Raj got the shaft. Again.

Just some random observations and opinions.

What storyline would have been satisfactory to Lenny fans  if Penny wasn’t pregnant? I got nothing. Easier for TPTB to ignore some bad Early season writing about Penny not wanting kids (not to mention totally out of left field) than to have no story. As someone suggested earlier if Penny didn’t want kids she wouldn’t of been pregnant

Fascinated about some disappointment that Amy wasn’t pregnant. Really? You got Shamy winning the Nobel Prize (which is more far fetched IMO than Penny pregnant) and Sheldon the central figure in both episodes. And then there were complaints about Sheldon acting just like ...............,,.,,..Sheldon.  As to some upset over Amy’s new look suggesting she should please Sheldon. Would Sheldon do that? Better question is that what women should do?

Raj. Anu thought more highly of her career than Raj. Raj thought more highly of his friends than Anu. It seems he is fine with that decision and made peace with that.  Why can’t everyone else?

Raj was probably over half the reason I even followed the show's 12th season, let alone the past 3 years

The arranged marriage should have gone through, even if it ended in divorce I hate that they chickened out of it because there were ways to explore Raj through it that went unrealized

Raj being Amy's makeover pal and gushing over a celebrity is all he did in the finale, just enforcing my family member's belief they are gay

What a low blow

did anyone else notice those balls from the model were stuck to sheldons butt? lol only caught it the second time i watched it through

was able to find a copy of the special, Kaley was just distraught through the whole thing they must have filmed it the same day as the final table read i'd say, was a good end cap for the last episode

The Biggest Moments From The Big Bang Theory Series Finale, Explained

"The show's producers break down everything you're dying to know."

You know, this interview baffles me...the writers said they wanted to acknowledge the "smart and beautiful babies" line and this is very right, some of us have been saying for ages it is  iconic in the show and it deserved to be remembered in the finale. But, if that is the case, why having Penny say so explicitly she didn't want children? It makes little sense. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced this was a very very good finale for a not so good season...

Feels more like the season didn't earn the finale...

But then again, if this is a fan service, then IMO, at least SOME of the fans are happy. LOL.

Because look at what happened with the final season of Game of Thrones, or How I met your Mother...Yikes!!!

It makes sense from the point of view of the writers. It reminds me of an angler bring in a big fish but letting it run for a while to tire it out. I'm guessing the highs are higher for the audience if there is a low where they think they are not getting things to go their way.

He got more that I expected him to. He just met Sarah Michelle Gellar on the flight to Stockholm and she was sitting with him during the physics Nobel award. Even Sheldon noticed and was surprised.
