@spidergirl :  You post brought yet more tears.  As we have come to "the end" we will begin to fall away from something that for better or worse has sort of become our online home for TBBT content.  We agree; we disagree; we argue; we make-up (and sometimes don't), but we all have something in common:  our love for this (as Mrs. Wolowitz would say) furcocktah television show.

I just want to say now that I wish every single one of you as we make our exit (whenever we do so) peace, joy, love and happiness!!!

Agree. It was not my intention to bring you or anyone else tears, sorry. This is how I am , as I live all fav things intensely, hehe.

I wish everyone the best, even those who eventually got angry with me for some reason included. Peace and love ✌❤

You know, this interview baffles me...the writers said they wanted to acknowledge the "smart and beautiful babies" line and this is very right, some of us have been saying for ages it is  iconic in the show and it deserved to be remembered in the finale. But, if that is the case, why having Penny say so explicitly she didn't want children? It makes little sense. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced this was a very very good finale for a not so good season...

I'm guessing that the writers was so confident in a season 13 before the start of season 12, that they come up with this idea about Penny doesn't want children.

Possible, just Jim through a wrench in their plans.

It was a show that entertained and brought joy to millions of people across the globe over the years and spawned a passionate fanbase and community, in particular here.

I would say the show has done rather well lol

Even if that were the case they had all the time in the world to correct the course and craft a more coherent story instead of doubling down on the no kids thing.

You're totally right, why not just ditch the whole idea when they knew about the ending of the show.

Think they prolonged the story with the Zack/Marissa baby issue. But in retrospect this might have been what made Penny change her mind even though conception was unintentional

What's especially baffling is that they could have easily used the donation plot to let Penny change her mind. All it would have took were a few small changes (like the prospect of Leonard fathering someone else's child made her realise that if he has kids they should be from her) and whole thing would fit just fine.

As much as I like the show the biggest moments of frustration have always come from little things like this. lol

I've seen multiple reviews of the finale mention a scene where Raj gets a phone call and decides to stay put, but I don't remember seeing that in the episode.

I'll assume that was a scene that got cut quite late on?

IMHO .... thery did it "other way"

In the end, this was a sentimental farewell ... OK, I accept it but I can't say I like it. I also do not like last nights YS episode at all.

But hey, who cares, this was amazing TV show, loads of fun and I am going to miss it a lot!  It brought a lot of fun in last 12 years of my life. Several tapings we visited just put the sugar on the top!  Who knows if we are ever going to see another show of this quality and karma!

But again, that was just fun, so who cares, real life goes on and that one is not always funny .....

First i have to say that this season was for the worst season of the show's history,  so my expectations for the final two episodes were extremely low. However after watching them i have to say that i enjoyed them immensely even though they were mostly about Shamy they are my favourite episodes of the season.

I enjoyed the opening montage of scenes from previous episodes, i enjoyed them arguing who should slap Sheldon, i really enjoyed Leonard getting to do it.  I liked how when Leonard & Sheldon were in the hall they surprised us with the elevator being fixed. As i Lenny, of course, my favourite scene was when they surprised us with Penny being pregnant.  I was really surprised we finally got to see Howardette's  kids ,Raj's friend Being Sarah Michelle Gellar while a surprise wasn't that good.

However i also surprised by Sheldon's speech acknowledging all his friends and what they did for him, that was a very heartfelt speech.

As for the final scene, that was beautifully perfect in its simplicity.

I enjoyed the series finale. last night. There were a couple parts that bothered me, but I am not going to dwell on that.  All in All I think it ended nicely.  Sheldon speech at the ned was the best part. very happy for Penny and Leonard and the Elevator  got fixed! That caught  me off  guard a bit but was  not shocking!  Kaley had requested that the elevator be fixed.   I thought it was quit amazing that Sheldon edmonton Leonard comment form the pilot about his and Penny babies being smart and beautiful.  But then I remembered he has great memory.  You can tell Penny has never heard that before

I am glad they went with the "Raymond"  and Cheers" approach to series finales. Especially the last scene.  Life goes on and they all will remain lifelong (and I expect Sheldon probably became a better person/friend after that) friends as was also noted in The Young Sheldon  season finale last night as well.   I said a couple months ago that our lives are not "series finales" and that we move at different pace. I glad they didn't go the "Friends" route now to be honest.

It does seem they left the door open to a possible revival at some point in the future but probably not within the next 10 years i imagine.

I also like the Young Sheldon season finale.  I  know some were hesitant about the young version of the other TBBT characters being on Young Sheldon but I think it was done perfectly and a great homage to TBBT

After much thought today I almost wish for more. Sheldon becoming a nicer friend could open a lot of doors to some good stories--but, Oh well. It was a good ending. I like the way Penny wasn't angry with his reaction to her baby news. She has accepted him just as much as Amy has and more than all his other friends. I also like that when Amy is distraught and explains why she is to him he always listens.

EW: "When did you change your mind about having Penny want kids?"
Steve Holland: "We had talked a lot earlier this season about honoring the pilot, how “our babies will be smart and beautiful.” It was a special moment to us. To bring that back around in the finale felt important. It also felt a little bit like people were expecting it, so to write against it all season felt like a way to make that moment play as more of a surprise."

I think you might be mixing reality with fiction. Not once was Sarah Michelle Gellar mentioned. Only Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Raj did not find Buffy The Vampire Slayer's boarding pass on the plane!
