I said last year tha if one decided to leave they all would. None of them would do the show without the other

I don't think it is fair to blame Jim for the show ending (Or thank depend who you are LOL). They are all a package deal. IF Johnny left, Kaley would too etc. I am sure it was a collective decision.

I don't blame Jim at all.   I simply think there were certain characters who CBS and/or Warner Brothers weren't ready to continue the show without.  Mayim found out just before an interview this afternoon, so she wasn't even aware, so there couldn't have been too much discussion between the actors .  I think CBS and WB got at least a preliminary agreement between them, and they started checking with the actors.  They went to Jim first and he wasn't ready to continue, so there was no use going anywhere else.  There could be several different actors who weren't ready to continue, and they just decided there wasn't any reason to ask, if Jim wasn't returning.

Again I never blamed Jim at all. I didn't blame anyone and never mention the word blame in my post

But agree

As they mention, it will be the longest running Live Action Multi Cam.  While Two and A Half Men also ran for 12 years, TBBT will have more episodes.

I know you didn't.   I was just pointing out that I didn't blame Jim, I can see how my original post might come off that way.

Okay sounds good. I just read it that way. Do agree thought. I don't blame any of them for wanting to leave. 12 Years is a long time to be on a TV Show=. Past the life expectancy of a average American Sitcom

I meant in terms of Season. My Three Sons has them both beat with 380. Of course back then there was more Episodes

Oh know don't blame the cast for wanting to leave. After 12 years as artists, professionally and personally. Stagnatism can become a real factor. Like the cast of Friends wanting to pursue different projects.

Yes agree and Melissa just became a Mother. I sure for her that why she ready to leave.   But yes I think they are ready to move on to other thing.

I remember when Friends was about to end and all he Magazine covers said The show was ending because Jen wanted to start a Family with Brad. I really don't believe that was true. I think they were just ready to move on.  And Courtney was pregnant when the show ended

The end of the road for CBS' The Big Bang Theory has arrived.

I've always thought it would be this year. But then I thought it should never have been extended in the first place.

Shocked, thought most involved sounded fairly bullish about at least another season.

I NEVER thought bullish. Not for a minute.

In the industry they count episodes.  "Girls" on HBO ran 6 seasons but only aired 62 episodes total.  Season to season measures are not equitable, episode counts are a true measure of output.

No,  most actors have their reasons.  Really the cast in general was  ready for it to end and move on to other things but likely Jim was most ready.  None of them are being selfish at all. The show been on for 12 Seasons!

The only actors who should feel guilty are the ones who intentionally tries to sabotages a TV Show for their own selfishness, recklessness or  stubbornness  and put other jobs in jeopardize like Suzanne Somers and Charlie Sheen

But why leave when literally the whole sitcom was his point in his career.

Burberry, I have hidden your last two posts.   I have left this, so I could reply to you.  It is against our rules to attack the actors.  And this forum will not be used to start a campaign to discredit an actors choice.  It ends now.  If you want to talk about your disappointment, fine, but DO NOT ATTACK the actors.

Other posts, those that replied to the now hidden Burberry posts, have also been hidden.

I am very disapointed this show is ending but it has been over a decade. I would be shocked if any of the actors wanted to continue on with the show after 12 years. I blame nobody. They have done an amazing job and I look forward to seeing what projects they choose next.

oh wow!

i didn't watch since s7 pretty much, but always read on here... still, i was shocked when i saw rhe news on IG, really thought the thing with CBS tying for one more season was legit. Anyways, 12 ys running is huge and they deserve all the great things that has happened and the things that will happen i'm sure, but maybe from another exprerience as producers or whatever they choose to do from mid-2019 and on.

I am sure CBS will promote it the last season and the upcoming final episode a lot but how much is the question? probably more heavily then Two and a Half Men I bet.  It might get a couple Magazine Covers and will get a lot of press coverage  but I don't see it being celebrated by critics in the sae way Friends, Seinfeld, Cheers and M*A*SH were.  THe Big Bang Theory is not a citric darling as we know like the other shows I mentioned were. some critics and tV Historians look upon the show with disdain.  The Critics and Press has never really celebrated TBBT Success like they did with Friends, Seinfeld and Cheers.

I remember during the last seasons of  Friends there was countless promos every day by NBC for months leading up to the Final Episode. There were many Specials, Biographies, Documentaries, Interviews, Talk Show Tours by the Cast to promote the last Season and Episodes, Many Magazine Covers and a few Special Books Editions and Collections were published, lot of Memorabilia and Merchandise (I remember buying the Party Pack for the last Episode that was being sold in stores) that were being sold in honor of the show run. NBC did a Month special of Episodes (as the season only had 18) where they aired the 5 episodes voted the best by viewers.

Looking back at it no as much as I like the show it was a bit to much and a little bit too hyped almost ridiculous  actually.  I remember at the time the Frasier Cast (which was also ending the same season on NBC after 11 Seasons) were not happy with all the attention and promotion Friends was getting. in fact they actually considered doing one more season so they could have their own season to  say goodbye and wouldn't be overshadowed.  They wanted their fair share of promotion as N/BC Was giving them very little compared to Friends. However after that Christmas talks of a season 12 ended as Kelsey Grammer decided he was over it and was done with the show even if NBC wasn't giving them fair amount of promotion. They still went out on high note still. Viewers who hasn't turned in for years turned in though it  still not as highly rated as Friends

If you are thinking Shamy I don't think so. I think Jim is ready to move back to NY and focus on theatre. I kind of get the feeling that is where he is happiest. I could be wrong though. We will just have to get our Jim Parsons fix somewhere else. At least I will.

Yeah I'll pass on any possible spin off idea. Rarely come off. Do we want a Joey? Cheers was one of the rare anomoalys. But yeah its not my Jim Parsons fix that I well miss hahahahaha. I well miss KC in the tight tops and shorts LOL. Kidding.
