They've been doing just fine since they live together. I don't get the sudden worry about Amy.

I have seen this many times in the past. It is a recurring subject I think. There have been changes in Sheldon but they come at a slow pace with a lot of backsliding. Except when he decided to propose for which the decision was fast and he has stuck with it.

He had the ring for 2 years already so that's been a long time coming as well, but that's beside the point.

I mean sure, his changes all took a long time but I don't see much backsliding (if any) with Amy since the breakup, heck, even more so since they live together. For the most part he's been on his best behaviour yet people still react as if we were in the middle of S6 or something.

Sounds familiar... 😇

I can't see Sheldon being abusive to Amy, I think that's a vast exaggeration.

Selfish, unfair, arrogant, insulting, rude and to a point mean I can see, but most times not with an intention to hurt and Amy can set him straight on these like she did in "The Proposal Proposal".

Thank you for at least providing some CANON evidence to prove your point, not just spitballing here.

Yeah, spitballing maybe fun, but it's sure as hell stupid. LMAO.

A religious parent is no guarantee of good teachings, IMO.

That’s not my point, my point being is, that if you grew up in a horrible environment with your parents abusing you (for example the Baltimore suburbs) there is a murder almost every day. It’s on the news all the time

You are more likely to carryover that abuse and hurt to a loved one. Mental or physical. My point being is that Sheldon grew up with a mother and father who cared greatly about him. and taught him better.

Even though he he can act weird at times and arrogant he really does not understand what is doing and in the past few seasons he has gotten better at understanding for example in the separation triangulation he respects Amy’s point and goes back to his old room.

Therefore he would be a great husband and father.

Oh, so you're talking about Leonard.

True. Sheldon's father was excessively and unnecessarily destructive with his gun, by Sheldon's accounts. Some of Mary's religious ideas came from Crazyland and still do. Anyway, what we are taught and how we subsequently behave are not the same, although some of his background did rub off on Sheldon.

I used to worry about the way Sheldon spoke to Amy at times and the self-centred and selfish ways he treated her on occasion. That was years ago now. She has learned how to make him see he can't get away with it. To reassure anyone who fears he'll revert to his old ways now he's married, or show a worse side, as in the saying,'You never marry the man you court', somehow I feel 'he's got another think coming' if he tries.

Moreover,  before his father went off the rails through drink or whatever it was, he lived a normal life with a married couple as a role model. Although a stable upbringing is no guarantee, it does improve one's chances of a stable adult life.

We already know the season starts with Sheldon trying (maybe a bit too much? lol) to be a good husband and while that serves as a conflict for the story they quickly come to an agreement. I really have no worries here that he'll suddenly revert to his former self where he's cold and distant towards Amy or whatever ppl seem to imagine here.

I mean, frankly it's baffling how on one hand there's complaints that Shamy are too lovey dovey and saccharine but on the other there are claims of an abusive relationship that has no factual foundation with the current show.

Wonder when The Sheldon Cooper approved Marriage Agreement will come forth. hopefully they'll start on those 13 to 15 kids Sheldon wants.  😜

She also stated she wanted kids, what you mention was regarding the timing.

Season 09 Episode 16 – The Positive Negative Reaction

Leonard: Me, too. So, you ever think about it?

Penny: Babies? Well, I’m not in a rush but someday, yeah, sure. What about you?

Leonard: I think we’d make amazing parents.

Season 11 Episode 11 – The Celebration Reverberation

Leonard: Should we think about what's next? Like buying a house or having a baby?

Penny: Look, I want to do all those things someday, but there's a bunch of stuff I want to do first.

As far as romance goes, Lenny is the better couple

but when it comes downs to solving issues in their relationship, shamy is the better couple. and to me that is what matter most

A swat to the bottom of your serious long term girlfriend is not abusive...

I don't think so either. Especially since she obviously was pleased by it. If she had not been I think she would have let him know it.

I saw no evidence that Leonard's parents cared greatly about him.

Who finds all the secret messages that are hidden in this photoshop crime?

Well, let's see. Look how far apart Leonard and Penny sit and how Sheldon (who doesn't sit in his spot btw) and Penny are placed. So snuggled next to each other. There's only one conclusion. The SHENNY will happen in this last season. Yep!

:icon_cheesygrin::icon_cheesygrin::icon_cheesygrin:

Nah, never happen. Penny loves her Strawberry Poptart. The wackledoodle is tolerated. Really loved your humor, though someone didn't get it.
