He had the ring and no idea how or when to proceed. Ramona comes along and suddenly he is decisive.

Sheldon wouldn't be the first person who with things going so well and feeling comfortable decides not to change anything even though unbeknownst to him such a move would have been well received.  They were in a state of bliss, loved up and living together so why introduce another variable into that?

Keep in mind there was also history with the ring with the breakup, all that drama during the spockumentary and an attempted proposal etc. So perhaps some painful recent memories there.

I think it could perhaps even should have happened earlier, but from a storytelling perspective there is some logic to it.

He's a scientist, it's his way to introduce new variables into equations.  😀

I wonder why she would be expected to be so traditional?

I can't imagine why she wouldn't be, unless they thought it might get lost or stolen  in the wilds of Legoland or New York. If she's not wearing it perhaps they thought it would be better in the safe until they get back home and into their normal routine.

This is exactly what my niece did.  She left her diamond engagement ring with her mother when she went on her honeymoon to New Orleans.

I asked her about it and she said it's quite common to leave something that might make you a robbery target at home when traveling.

No I doubt Penny and Leonard will have a child Penny has mentioned that she wants to stay thin and have money

I think that this is the expression of a universal ambition. No one ever says they want to get fat and stay poor.

And Penny has had a lot of practice raising boys, I’d think once they’re shed of Sheldon, they’ll have the headspace for kids. I don’t know if we’ll see it, but I’m open to it. I expect it’s likely to be a punchline, not a plot.

She also has some experience raising girls, Amy! Also Lenny's daughter/daughters will definitely have good fashion sense.

You don’t know that for sure

It's a sitcom! Nobody knows anything, not even you. To spell it out for you, If Lenny has a daughter or daughters, they definitely will have great fashion sense by learning from their mother.

From TV Line

The Big Bang Theory: Keith Carradine to Return as Penny's Dad in Final Season

Penny’s dad/Leonard’s best bud will be back before The Big Bang Theory signs off forever: Keith Carradine will reprise his recurring role in the CBS comedy’s final season, a CBS rep confirms to TVLine exclusively.

“Wyatt is back, for a moment, anyway” Carradine tells TVLine, marveling at the “interesting vibe on set.”

The blockbuster series “has profoundly changed all of [the cast’s] lives, and yet they are all still absolutely delightful,” he adds. “And there’s a wistfulness there. I noticed that everyone’s there doing what they have become so expert at. It’s a sense of family.”

Carradine made his Big Bang debut in a Season 4 installment titled “The Boyfriend Complexity,” in which a then-single Penny asked Leonard to pose as her boyfriend while her father was visiting. Carradine has since made two more appearances, with the most recent being Season 10’s “The Conjugal Conjecture,” aka Penny and Leonard’s do-over wedding episode.

Carradine currently plays President Henry Dalton on CBS’ Madam Secretary. On Monday evening, he can be seen serving as guest programmer on Turner Classic Movies.

Glad to see Wyatt back. He's always such a hoot!

Will do! Not our first rodeo, but still have to be prepared and vigilant. Keeping an eye on the Weather Channel for up to date info. Seems like Biloxi will catch the brunt of Gordon.

Stay safe afe. At least it won't be like last year.  I sure you are use to them like we are to blizzards here!

Each storm is the same, but at the same time different. With a hurricane, you know what you're gonna get, just not how much til it arrives. You prepare for a category 5 and hope for a category 1!
