She's definitely wearing both rings in the photo where Shamy are sitting on a park bench. My phone blew her hand up nicely for me. Yes, it's a rather prominent stone. She might take it off for work once she's back.

Comprehension question: what two rings did @joyceraye talk about here?

Yeah, you got that wrong. When did Leonard get his ring for Penny? That would have been ages ago cause he was carrying it around for quite some time before they got engaged. Long, looooooong before Sheldon ever thought about marrying Amy. Why would he get a ring then as well?

Not to mention what @mirs1 said: It's been established that Amy's ring is a family heirloom.

So Sheldon's line was therefore completely taken from air and out of context. He was just talking nonsense. 😁

The Indians thought it was worth stealing and the Texas Rangers thought it was worth making the effort to get it back. Whether it was intrinsically valuable that long ago or not, it's an antique now, by any measure.

All's fine here in P'cola. Got us some wind and much needed rain. Didn't even lose power. Now watching the next hurricane that has formed in the Atlantic. That's far away right now their not sure of it's path. Hurricane season, I've learned to keep a close eye on what's forming!

There were some queries earlier in the thread about whether Amy was wearing both her rings or had left the engagement ring behind.

Edited to add : just remembered you might be from another culture. We remove the engagement ring before the wedding ceremony and receive a wedding ring (aka a 'band' ) during the ceremony. We then put the engagement ring back on.

Well, we know that since the arrival of "YS", Sheldon's memory has been questionable at best. We only know for sure as Mary said "My Mother's Ring".

Mary said in 9/01 'My grandmother's ( or grandmothers' )ring' and in 9/14 Constance said 'my ring' which means Constance was given it via her own mother or mother-in-law.

There's no evidence to that fact.  Since Sheldon's memory is now questionable due to "YS", I have my doubts. We just know for sure that it was "Meemaw's ring".

Nothing to do with Sheldon's memory. It comes from the mouths of  Sheldon's mother and her mother. Since it belonged to Mary's grandmother and Mary's mother had it then Constance's mother or mother-in-law must have passed it down. There's no other way.

I have to watch that episode again. I believe Mary said "mom's ring". Which makes it "Meemaw ring". Until then we'll disagree.

What in the world are you talking about!? It simply means Sheldon helped Leonard find his ring. It's not Sheldon talking nonsense.

In the opening sentence of @joyceraye it was mentioned two rings. One was for me the engagement ring, the other probably the wedding ring. In my memory there appeared this quoted sentence by Sheldon, who had caused some furore at that time.
That was just meant as a "humorous" clue. So it’s time to calm down.

In her line of work and working in labs it would be realistic for her to not wear it when working.

Having said that and I would have to go back and check (I could be wrong), I think she was wearing it when she was working with Howard in the lab last season.  So maybe sitcom and real life differ in this case lol!

I'm totally calm, don't worry. Your attempt at humour just misfired.

Goodmorning Everyone and Happy Taping Day!

About the Rings. Most Women I known don't wear their Engagement Ring with their Wedding Ring but then again most Women I know  don't/didn't have an Engagement Ring or their Engagement Ring is same as their Wedding ring.  Some didn't even have a wedding Ring. Many quick Marriages in front of The justice of The Peace in My Family Tree. They may have gotten rings alter on but they were not a Wedding or Engamgent or it was loaned by a Mother or Grandmother.

Yes!  Happy taping day!!! (I hope we have someone attending to give us some details!!!!)

My experience with rings: (not the "One Ring".  That's something else entirely.  My buddy Frodo and I had some issues with that, but that is another story....)

The women in my circle (my late mom, my wife, sisters-in-law, some friends) wear/wore their wedding rings (a simple gold band--some more intricate than others) all the time.  Some wore their engagement ring often as well, worn on top of the wedding ring.  They would take it off when doing housework, gardening or other things for which they used their hands in a sort of harsh way.  I can see Amy (or even Bernadette) leaving their engagement ring off when at work if they were using harsh chemicals, or in Amy's case if they were wearing protective gloves.  It is (again, in my circle) usual to wear the wedding ring all the time.....

Anyway.  That is my two cents.  Now....back to our regular programming.....
