Well, She has supposedly had a few scares in her life! 😃

That would be perfect for Lenny!

Would be great to see maybe a story arc of them trying to conceive. There could be many comedic situations with this storyline and then Penny finally announcing she is pregnant.

I'm thinking unrelated but hoping for pressuring Penny into having those grand kids that don't live in a house on wheels!

I'm thinking unrelated, but hoping for the pressuring of Penny to have those grand kids that don't live in houses that are on wheels

I hope we don't see anyone pressuring Penny into having children. That's something she and Leonard need to seriously discuss together and decide whether or not they both want them.

I don't think Penny would bow underĀ her father's pressure, if there is such.

What I am worried about is that the writers are gonna flip what they have established in 2(/3, depending how you look at it) already and suddenlyĀ have them (probably Penny) not wanting kids, just so they could get praise for representing that and get press due to the surprise. IMO they missed that train, making a true representation of a woman who doesn't want kids, when they got Bernadette pregnant.Ā

I agree. The thing is she supposedĀ to have a career. The only time though they showed her ā€œworkingā€ was when she was practicing her job with Emily. The only other times when anything was job related was Billy Bob stalking her and the company party with Bernadette.

To add to that I don’t think people would of been disappointed if Howdette didn’t have kids

If they suddenly have Lenny not wanting kids it would proably be the "Killing of The Mother" of this show for me, probably worse because I'm more invested.Ā

I want to make clear that this is not a general saying about people having children. I'm all for people not wanting children not having them, not everybody has to have children. This is about the characters and what has been established about them.

I really hope we would get some info on this subject soon and find out Holland was just phrasing it that way to get attention.

Ā

ETA: It would also be the ultimate bow to Sheldon, with his "imaginary" remark. Please no.

The bad part about this is that they hadĀ Bernadette on several occasions say she did not want children.Ā  Even when pregnant with Halley there was a time that she was unsure.Ā  They took the news about Michael Neil with a little bit of terror at having another child so soon----Howard even got a vasectomy.

After having Penny (and Leonard) on record speaking about them having children in their future; after having the "smart and beautiful babies" phrase in the pilot---Having one or both of them now at this late hour not want children is a shock.....

Let's hope it'sĀ not an "is", by that I mean they don't go this way and this is just for the press.

Having Penny suddenly not

want children would be a reversal, having Leonard be okay with that would a total beat down of his character, an awful ending for them. Ā

The parents are all great!!!!

The actors are great. The only character that wants to see Beverly is Sheldon. I can think of no character that wants to see Amy's mother again!

We will see his dad. How long has it been since we've seen his mom? Was it season 8 when we last saw her?

The last I remember is when his dad cut him off after the helicopter issue and he called mom and was given an allowance.

TPTB went overboard on the second pregnancy. It was a knee jerk reaction to Melissa being pregnant. There were other ways to around her being with child!

I don't believe itĀ  will be a full blown attempt to pressure her, just a fatherly suggestion!

The reason they had Bernadette pregnant is they had no storyline for Howdette. It was dumb then and it is still dumb. Imaginary kids with annoying cries. JMO but for most Lenny fans and othersĀ it would be the greatest moment in 12 years of the show if Penny got pregnant.Ā I know many talk about the first time coitus. But again IMO that pales in comparison.

Bernadette agreed to have children provided she'd be the one to go to work. It was discussed when they were engaged and again when they were married. Lenny have only hinted at it in passing. We've never seen them have a proper discussion.

But I thought Howard staying home was part of the deal

They only had passing remarks as if trying to gauge theĀ interest of the other!

To the bolded portion: I wonder how much Melissa's actual pregnancies had to do with those of her character's?Ā  If anyone knows, please share if you like.

As to the remainder, I agree.Ā  Many may forget now (thankfully, we had Bitcoin last year to help remind) the anguish that they each went through.Ā  Especially Penny who seemingly suffered alone (her "it means I wishĀ  you weren't going" at the end of Season 2 is a seminal moment).Ā  To have that journey be complete in a final Season 12 would, for many, include an acknowledgment of imminent children.Ā  I personally don't need to see a baby swaddled in Penny's arms with a proud Leonard peering at the bundle.Ā  I don't need a "flash-forward" seeing one or two or three of the Hofstadter's "smart and beautiful" children.Ā  Just a smile from Penny to Leonard as she looks at a pregnancy test.Ā  Maybe a whisper in husband's ear with Leonard erupting in happiness yelling "twins!" as their portion of The Big Bang Theory fades to black.Ā  perhaps a tender touch of a just beginning baby bump by Penny as she looks at Leonard, whose attention is elsewhere (for reference, watch Mary Hatch Bailey in "It's a Wonderful Life" as she and George Bailey send the Martini family to their new home).

In short no grand gestures are required for this viewer and Lenny lover.Ā  Save that for that other couple who need to declare that they are the greatest, most wonderful, most devoted pair ever ("don't worry, you're happy.Ā  We took a test").

Peace, out.

I call "Do you ever think about it?" -"I'm not in a rush but yeah sure" (forgive me for small inaccuracies) a proper discussion.

Later there was also "I want to do all of this (buy a house, have a baby)"
