You know what bothers me the most about all of this.  While Shamy are doing their thing, they couldn't let the gang enjoy some time on their own???  I mean, is it really that hard to come up with anything other than Shamy?

It was too much to expect that they could have any sort of freedom while they were away.

Ah well...

I agree, but the only character that sticks their nose in other people happiness is the big baby Sheldon. I'm surprised he didn't interfere with his own wedding. I thought he would state in vows in Klingon.

I suspect we will eventually find out that Penny is now in PR. Not that there will be a plot about it , but I bet she is.

Oh-my-god! These writers going to do something good for Penny? Unbelievable!

It would fit with the statement that she likes her job now.

To be perfectly honest, I never heard her say she likes her job. Maybe when she first started out, she said that line.  The only time I have the remarks about liking her job was in the recent after ComicCom Panel interview with Steve Holland and Steve Molaro or Steve squared.

She told Leonard S9 The Big Bear Preception. That she hates her job. But from what I can recall I Don't think they have ever returned to this idea. So who knows if Penny likes her job now. Show ain't that great with continuity.

I would not be surprised too see Penny move into PR. And I Doubt their well be much detail to it. Or any kinda story arch. Prob just a reference or two.

But guys it is what it is. With Young Sheldon being their future. I Think they are less concerned about TBBT As a show. Than they are giving YS a solid platform. Thats their cash cow now. What once was an original sitcom. Has been replaced by this Hybrid of what it used to be.

Didn't she also say to her parents when they came for the redo wedding that she was assigned a much better territory.  Maybe she liked her job after that assignment.

The problem with that is the following occurred after talking to her parents when they came for the redo wedding:

Zack: So, Penny, what's going on with you? How's the job?
P: Uh, it's okay, I'm still in pharmaceutical sales.

P: Yeah, lying isn't my favorite part of the job. Actually, I'm not crazy about a lot of it.

I believe the only thing she likes about her job is the pay is great.

Perhaps the writers are keeping Penny in her current job because a new job for will form the plot line at the end, maybe combining it with a move away for her and Leonard. Do the writers have the whole season sketched out already?Just a thought.

Beside for the planned Sheldon Show, I don't think so.

Well they do have to ensure Sheldon/shamy look good and involved in everyone's business. The other characters need Sheldon's guidance.

Yes this is true   Just goes to show you the contradictions in the story and the lack of continuity

Steve Holland and his band of merry writers don't care about continuity or any contradictions from episode to episode.

According to Steve Holland, They don't think too far in advance.

Yes but I think it was also Holland who said last year he kind of had it in his head how they would all end up in the end.  It Related to when he would have to know if this is the last season.

I don't know about that, his latest interview, he said that they don't think too far in advance. They pretty much go one episode at a time. As for the last season, he doesn't know if it will be the last season. I believe everybody has an idea how they want it to end. It doesn't mean that's what's going to happen. Things change, as does ideas. I'm sure that in the long run, Chuck, Bill and Steve Molaro will have a lot to say on how TBBT ends, not just Steve Holland.

If they do plan on changing her job eventually though, why would they say she likes her current one? They could just say she's not changing it for now.

I think they said it because they don't care about it and wanted to say something so they don't constantly get questioned about it. But that's just me.

I can certainly follow that logic. But the desire to respond to every fart of Sheldon speaks more against this thesis.
