Now with it being the last season, instead of celebrating them and letting them be happy what we get is the derogation of not only the couple as it is but even the precious big moments of their history. 

We all do a lot of reading between the lines and like to speculate either way. There's no way to tell how well a couple of fictional characters match up, of course, but I really like to pick the positive view while it's still possible.

Maybe Lenny are on course for a break up, but will reunite in the final few episodes. I don’t want that at all, but I might brace myself just in case.

I kind of wondering if we'll fine out the only reason Penny hung out with Leonard in the early part of series was because of the things he did for her and the friendship was completely one sided

To be truthful, I really don't want to know. Let those dead dogs lie. These writers will and have made mountains out of mole hills for Lenny/ I cringe at the remaining Episodes and what they may entail!

I wouldn't put it past them to have Penny admit she was only hanging around back then. Because she got free food and wifi and he would do anything for her. I mean afterall it already looks like they are going to be trashing Leonard&Penny's history in this episode. So what's to stop them from carrying it on through the rest of the season.

I think you could be totally right,  it really looks like the writers doesn't mind  to trash Lenny's past history this season.

One of my fears is that these writers feel the need to break up a couple. They can't break up shamy, they're newlyweds, Howardette has two crumb snatchers, breaking them up is uncool. Raj is the usual breakup, so he's out. By process of Elimination, that leaves Lenny. They're married over 3 years and have no kids. Perfect for the writers to break up. That's my doomsday theory.

Yes, my feeling is that the writers has no problem at all with throwing Lenny under the bus.

Whilst i understand your fear and i do think it is not beyond them to do that to them. I have to believe they aren't so cruel to those characters and the fans. I think it's best we see where they go from here. Remember these first seven episodes where written before they knew it was the final season. So maybe now they know it is they might from episode eight improve things for Lenny.

As I said, Doomsday Theory. It probably won't happen, but it's season 12 (last), you never know!

I'd say yes and no... They had something like that but it was kind of in the context of jokes and partly-true, I think what people fear is that they will make it the only reason she was there, strongly implying she had no feelings, romantic, friendly or whatsoever for him at all. It's like when Penny rolls her eyes at Leonard but also has a smile on, versus the way she responded to his nikel joke, where to me she seemed just annoyed and snarky.

In it's entiriety no, however Sheldon has made comments/jokes about Penny stealing there wifi and getting free food from them, but the part about Leonard doing anything for her i don't think has  been mentioned. But when i made that comment i was refering percifically to Penny saying that ,and as far as i remember she has never said anything like that .

Also on a another note Kaley posted a photo of Leonard& Penny from the season one halloween episode and from this seasons halloween episode. In the pic for this season Penny looks happy and Leonard is also smiling, so it looks like it will end well. Although i'll reserve judgement till i see it for all i know they'll pull the same trick they did in 12x03. Have Leonard get upset by what Penny's says , but then role over and accept it, then have Penny make a kind gesture as if that will fix the issue.

This is obviously subjective, but this to me is one of those things that are said with a wink, unlike him realizing she didn't invite him and her responding with a straight-on "don't make it awkward for me", or talking of all the times she felt sorry for him and that being presented as the single motive of the kiss she remembers as their first, or her feeling sorry for Sheldon and then saying Leonard deserved his brother's bullying... and the kind of jokes you cited was also not repeated at every opportunity like "he wore me down".

That's sooo true. They (writers) throw Lenny under the bus and take their shots at them with the continued "wore me down" and "settled" jabs.

You're right! There are too many times where you can't tell if what she says is banter or just plain hurtful. Telling Leonard she wanted to hug Sheldon and make him feel better and that Leonard either probably had it coming or deserved it was just plain mean, hurtful and unnecessary.
