I had no problem with her kiss as a feeling sorry for you reaction. Feeling sorry for someone is not a negative thing. She literally said “I’m so sorry you didn’t get your party” then kissed him to show she was “upset” about that and here’s my belated birthday present to you - a non drunk kiss to make you feel better. And it worked! Each to their own opinion but IMO sometimes we get “dark” for the sake of it here. It was a great Lenny episode that we were pre stressed about because of out of context preview clips and maybe we’re still clinging on to the anger we had . I’m happy with the whole Lenny story in this episode, except the tag could have been the follow on to their last scene. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk What could have been a better tag scene was if Leonard brought up their next kiss which was on their first date and said "Penny, The cat's still alive"

We have to remember that as much as we may dislike what the writers are writing, they're professionals, and we're not. Moreover, they're professionals whose past products we did like and whose current products we sometimes like (and some of us like them more often than others). We can come up with cute and/or romantic Lenny moments, but are we up to writing a script for a full sitcom episode with 7 characters and high joke-density? Probably not. We may get an episode or two, 12 seasons worth.
chucky
Correct me if I'm wrong didn't both Leonard say their first attempt at sex was fine. Although Penny I believe said it was OK. How did OK and fine turn into "amazing" for Leonard and "don't beat yourself on the head over it" from Penny? When they write this crap, do they even check to see what was said in Season 3? I guess if you want funny, the hell with previous episodes, just wing it now!
veejay
Of course the writers have blown the supposedly funny horn again. Lenny are so different in their perceptions. We got it, since their first meeting. S3/Ep1 P: You know how they say when friends have sex it can get weird? S3/Ep2 L: The sex was just fine. H: Just fine? …… L: I'm not saying it was bad. I'm just saying it wasn't great. L: Okay-dokay. S12/Ep8 *L: Yeah. The script, the script today. 😉 Edited November 9, 2018 by veejay addition

With Penny appearing to not wants kids means that they don't need to explain why Amy is pregnant instead of Penny. I really hope this doesn't happen because it feel like they are giving all the fans who wanted to see Penny pregnant a giant middle finger if they do. I hadn't thought of that. What a truly hideous idea.

I began to hope a little with 1203 because whether you like the story or not it's about Lenny and concentrates on Penny's feelings for once and there's no Shamy. Could have been the start of a Lenny story arc. Normal disservice was resumed with 1204, of course. I must not get my hopes up. On 10/10/2018 at 6:02 PM, smartandbeautiful said: Agree, but I’m afraid the writers might split them up in the middle of the season, so they can be back together again in the last episode (otherwise why all these hints with ‘how are you two still married’?) As an old-line Lennynist, I'd be quite happy with that, SO LONG AS Leonard's attempt to win Penny back was the main season-long story arc and prioritised over any Shamy rubbish. In fact I think a third Lenny wedding would be a most appropriate series finale.

But does she though ?, when she said that line i thought well that's good but then i remembered her conversation with Raj and she made it sound whilst better than when they started it wasn't great. Of course the writers have for years tried to make it look like Leonard was nothing special in bed, even though Penny when they dated the first time said he was a genius after sex. So i don't know who Penny was telling the truth too , was it Raj or was it Leonard. Oh and another thing after Penny told Leonard not to beat himself up, Leonard asked her twice what she meant by it and we never got answer that was really annoying. I totally agree but you know these writers are so inept at continuity that it really is becoming quite obvious. Just a thought, but would Penny have stayed with Leonard if the sex wasn't great or at least good? Based on her sexual history, which I hate doing, the tall handsome hunks would prevail. Do you think this might be a factor in her not wanting kids? Gee I certainly hope not.

No she wouldn't during their first relationship after their first awkward time Penny seemed pretty happy with their sex life, it was after they got back together that we started getting the jokes about his performance not many but they are still there. 14 minutes ago, chucky said: Does she? And that's the problem which one is the truth does she make him sound not so good to friends because she doesn't want him getting smug if he finds out . Or is she lying to Leonard about how much she enjoys it as to not hurt his feelings .

bfm
Lousy man, settling woman. *YAWN* Remember when this show had times when it went against these tired tropes? Like when BOTH thought their first time wasn't great, like when Penny enjoyed sex with Leonard and did not seem to find it just enough for her to settle for? I'm betting we won't hear Amy say that! Well Amy shouldn't say that because nobody but Sheldon would ever want her (I didn't believe the giant wurzel guy she dated just before S proposed), whereas S has had several credible alternatives including Raj's first arranged date and Ramona. But what is never said but is obviously true is that A wore S down. LIterally wore down in fact - S is diminished as a character since he has been supposed to "love" A. I don't know if wearing down is the right phrase. More likely she out waited and out maneuvered him. Sheldon is not the sharpest tack in the box when it comes to social abilities!
