I know what I wrote is silly , but I don't  where the writers are going with this story or if it's going anywhere at all, I have a feeling we'll be more pissed off or upset than happy with whatever conclusion they devise.

I don't think it's silly at all. It's a sensible solution.

Acutually this would really work.  They could have her give him a positive pregnancy stick late in the season, maybe Valentine’s Day, and then at the end of the show she could show a little baby bump.  They could have a subplot in between those episodes where they get their first ultrasound and maybe find out they are having twins (smart and beautiful BABIES) and Penny can freak and complain how he had to be gifted in this subject too.

Okay I've been thinking about how they can turn the abomination of a Lenny plot into a catalyst for Penny changing her mind about wanting kids.

So how about in the next episode it picks with Leonard agreeing to be a sperm donor, Penny doesn't say anything but deep down is upset he's going to do it she just doesn't show it. Later on Leonard is about to leave to go to the clinic to give his sample, He asks Penny if she wants to come with , she refuses still trying to pretend it's not bothering her. But as he's about to open the door, she says "Wait". he turns to look at her and says "What's up?", she finally tells him how she actually feels, and doesn't want him to do it. He tells her they are waiting at the clinic for him what are they going to do, she say she doesn't know before smiling saying she has an idea. Leonard arrives at the clinic and when he sees Zack & Marissa he breaks the news that he has changed his mind, they are obviously upset, however he tells them he has brought someone else to do it instead.  Nowhere they go for a comical scene by having it be Stuart, but I think say Wil Wheaton would be better and When Marissa see him she happily approves of his replacement. Leonard arrives home and Penny asks him how they took it, with him saying they where upset at first but where happy with the replacement. Penny apologises for making him not do it , he says if he honest he didn't really want to do it either. As he doesn't want to father a child he cannot raise but more importantly have a child that isn't with her. Penny hugs him and says thankyou, before telling him she's been thinking , he asks her about what?, she tells him maybe one day she might want his  baby. Leonard looks surprised but happy and says you want to have my baby someday? she smiles before walking then turning to still smiling and says maybe.

I know what I wrote is silly , but I don't  where the writers are going with this story or if it's going anywhere at all, I have a feeling we'll be more pissed off or upset than happy with whatever conclusion they devise.

This sounds like a viable alternative. However, If I may build upon your scenario: Suppose Leonard does go to the clinic and Penny is at home crestfallen. But when Leonard returns he tells Penny he could not do it and says if he is going to be a father he only wants it to be with Penny and not foster someone else's child. Penny is overwhelmed with happiness as she confesses to Leonard that she really didn't feel good about him donating his sperm to someone she knows. They finally have a serious discussion about their future and having children and why she told him she did not want kids. I think this has to be explained as Leonard never asked her why. I think the writers purposely left this open and had Leonard  agree too easily to her decision for a more meaningful scenario down the road. JMO

Personally, I love your solution. But, God only knows how the writers will play it out!

Penny being pregnant at the end of the show would give them a meaniful conclusion for their characters in the last episodes of the show and would let the Lenny relationship come full circle since the first episode.  It could really give Lenny that happy conclusion to their story which would only help the show as it goes into years of syndication.

I agree that would be a wonderful and fitting conclusion for Lenny. But the question is, when is the last time these writers cared about Lenny?

I entirely agree with you but at this point in the show I get the feeling that, to tptb, it is all about what they can get out of the remaining episodes, that is why we are seeing references to “Young Sheldon”.  Well syndication is the gift that keeps on giving so it is to the advantage of everyone involved that the show ends well so that it does well in syndication, so Lenny ending well would be a part of that.

I also think that doing a Lenny spin-off, that keeps true to TBBT, would succeed because of syndication, especially if the had a strong link back to original show, since tptb could sell the episodes of that show with the original in syndication as a packaged deal, so even if the show went on for just a short time it’s reruns could be still valuable.

I see your point, but I still don't trust the writers or Holland.

Tbf it’s not just Lenny. Shows very Shamy centric. But theirs going to be an obvious conclusion to this storyline. 2nd episode about it now. It’s revealed Penny saw a gynaecologist and can’t have kids. So Lenny either get a surrogate to carry their child. Or they adopt.

Where is this coming from.  Can't she just not want children?

This show is a sitcom with a small window of time to wrap things up.  Do you really think that they are going to get into infertility issues now?

Exactly unless they do a spinoff which is very unlikely

I think the whole forum is slowly turning into a fan fiction blog. It's time to show some new "real" episodes again.
Well, it's also just before Christmas. Time for all kinds of wishes. 😉

And what's wrong with Penny changing her mind and deciding she does want children after all?.

There's nothing wrong with changing her mind. I'm guessing some people have never changed their minds.

When a few of us were speculating.

Fertility/Infertility issues needn't take up time : it could all be fixed in one line when Penny explains. They go and get treated ( usual nurse ) in one scene. Then all's back to normal as in 'sometime in the next few years'.

Haha we never know what will happen in the future

True. We never know. British companies have been known to make spin-offs and specials many years later. There are three or four going now.

One series that ended with a wedding showed the next episode 25 years later about their silver wedding.

Perhaps all of Jim's other projects flop and he gets offered enough to  restore his fortunes to reprise the role of Sheldon ? Or he wants to invest further and decides he needs another few million ?  Or they could do an animated version.

interesting!

I’m probably very naive, but I still hope the writers will fix this Lenny’s kids issue in a more positive way 😅

You may be naive, I must be as well because I agree with you. But, I won't hold my breath waiting for it to come.

interesting indeed. Too bad that these writers won't think of that!

I highly doubt that the writers will do a infertility arc for Lenny with so few episodes left of the series to be honest.
