But WHY have they destroyed a great show by sidelining their star actress??

I honestly don't think they think that. I just don't.

That's my impression too. For me Season 6 was by far the best from today's point of view.

Absolutely true for me because there were a lot of ensemble eps and that's what I like best. I agree with everyone that has said there needs to be balance.

Totally agree with you, season 8 and 10 are the worst, nothing else comes even close.

In Season 10 there was one big exception in the otherwise mostly sad events for me...

Yes, Lenny's manchild finally moved out, one of very few happy moments in season 10.

The first half of the season wasn't so bad but the last half was just so so unfunny.

Don't forget Ep 10/9. The Geology Elevation was funny as hell with Sheldon dropping a rock on one foot, kicking said rock with the other foot. Slipped and fell face first into the water cooler and then hurt his hand trying to give Burt a Captain Kirk karate chop. That was the funniest TBBT episode I have ever seen. Second was Episode 11/18, The Gates Excitation. I loved when he moved into 4B with Amy, but seeing him hurt himself was just hilarious. :sungum:

I was thinking the exact same thing. We just need to find a writer that wants to put the words to paper. I'll certainly read it!

^^^ (Quote from the orig. Lenny thread.)

Wouldn't it make more sense for a writer to make this visible in a TV comedy?!
Sorry, just a thought of mine. 😕

I don't think the TBBT writers would do it. They are far to Sheldon Centric And that would diminish Sheldon's role too much. Lenny would look funny and their Shamy wouldn't look good.

It seemed good at the time that P&L finally had a place to themselves but it's been a disaster because all the screentime since for couples has been spent in 4B and almost none with P & L. Plus even when P & L are shown together in 4A Amy can barge in at any time and they just don't ask her to leave., It was better when Amy didn't live in the block and we had P &L coping with the problem of Sheldon living with them - which was actually quite enjoyable in itself.

You would have thought that by now they would lock that door. I mean, they did have the lock changed for a reason.

I don't think at the end of the day Penny would ever take Sheldons side in things. In the past I just think Penny and the writers love seeing Leonard squirm. "hey least your weird roommate gets me!". I think they outgrew that way of thinking. And around S10-11 you started seeing Lenny being unified against Sheldon again. Point of reference. Last season The Tenant Disassociaton episode.

I agree s6 was the last creative season for the show. Since 8, it's just become a cash cow for The Sheldon Cooper show. And a solid platform for Young Sheldon. It's longevity well be in syndication.

I want to agree, but I tend to remember Penny spending more time with Sheldon than usual. Remember Anything can happen Thursday when she left Leonard with Amy and Bernadette. She took Sheldon to dinner and then the psychic?

In season 8, through 23 episodes, Sheldon and Penny had more time on screen than Lenny did.  It was only during the long car scene on the way to Vegas that Leonard and Penny finally overtake Sheldon and Penny.   Wasn't that just a wonderful scene to finally move ahead of Sheldon and Penny?   Sheldon and Amy have over twice as much time as Leonard and Penny.

That I figured since Sheldon is the cash cow and she was his girlfriend. As I said, nowadays it's record, FF and only watch Lenny. Roughly 2,5 minutes an episode. Unless of course Sheldon hurts himself as in Season 10, The Geology Elevation" or acts like a fool as in Season 11 "The Gates Excitation". Those I watch and LMAO. They are recorded and have been watched several times.

Just watch S1-6 reruns. I am doing that right now hahah.

I have said in the past, I Don't want to deter this into critisizing Shamy. But I felt they jumped the shark a bit. When they transistioned Shamy from this alternative, quirky couple. To the almost romantic hero and herione of the series. And sidelining Leonard and Penny as bystanders. Of course culminating with Sheldon proposing. But that is just my personal views.

You have many people that agree with you

To me, season 7 was around the time Penny's snarky, snide remarks toward Leonard started.

I usually agree with your comments, Chucky but in this instance I cannot concur with you. Season 7 pretty much built up to the engagement and of course Sheldon's pettiness and his eventual train adventure. I think after Lenny were engaged the snide remarks became apparent. I recall the episode when Penny was on a podcast with Kevin Smith and she wanted to go to his audition for a role and Leonard objected. She says to Leonard "I don't think I asked you" when he told her she already had a job.  To me this was a snarky remark and wasn't called for.  Think this was a Molaro trait as he thought conflict was funny. Not funny when you see it episode after episode.

I did think about doing that episode , however it's a difficult one to find a way to change and make better, unless I just have Leonard confront her.

That would work  I have often thought that Leonard should confront Penny once in awhile. Didn't she say she likes "take charge Leonard"  He should have sounded off on her in the David Underhill incident, well he did but mildly, and after the incident with Zack when she used him for sex, when they had the GOT party and she walked out on him to go watch it with Sheldon. These are just a few that come to mind.

I don't know but I get this feeling that there is something going on behind the scenes. Maybe once the series is over one of them will write a book and the truth might come out.  Does anyone else feel like this?

I have to concur. You have to realize that this 63 year old brain has a brain fart occasionally.

A book? No, because I still don't think all this bothers them as much as it does some fans. They are making a huge amount of money doing very little work and are working with people they seem to like. This is probably just another job to an actor, albeit a pleasant one. I don't think they would turn on the showrunners and their fellow actors like that and I don't think a book like that would be commercially feasible. The usual point of writing a book is to get people to buy it.

I'm not feeling it. That doesn't mean it's not happening. I'd be surprised if a book came out like that!

Maybe the book was a poor suggestion.  I didn't mean there was conflict within the cast members. I just feel, money aside, that Kaley and Johnny might feel a little off-put by the change in direction of the show. As many state it has become the Sheldon/Shamy show as they seem to be the center of most storylines. Hopefully, maybe this will be rectified in season 12  (I am an optimist)

I technically agree. Most people feel they're upset because they're not the center attraction. I think they're upset at it being the Sheldon Cooper show. Seems as though every episode revolves around Sheldon. I feel they want the show to return to an ensemble show and not singular actor show with guests as it has been the last year or two. But they get paid good money to do 2 to 2,5 minuets of screen time. So that's a positive. They get to sit back and watch Jim and Mayim trying to learn their lines and attempt to be believable.

Exactly, and in season eleven it was all the more obvious as they had the Shamy doing the things Lenny used too do. Like kissing , bed scenes and eating meals together whilst having a conversation. They where all things Lenny did , but it's seems that when they had the Shamy start doing them they where taken away from Lenny.  We really need the writers to sort this out and bring back the balance we used to have like season six, no couple dominated that season and that's how i'd like S12 to be. Unfortunately it already sounds like it's going to be another season of  the Shamy & Friends Show, which is not what I want to see.

And it feels so out of place for Shamy because that's not who they are, IMO. The last time Shamy felt real was S5 or S6, in episodes like "Herb garden" I believe it was called. I wish Lenny would feel more like Lenny.
