To me, season 7 was around the time Penny's snarky, snide remarks toward Leonard started.

Well, just rewatched the first half of S7, and it seems to be the other way round, L treating P badly. In 703 The Scavenger Vortex he made it clear he didn't wan't P as his partner because he thinks she's ignorant. So winning some undergraduate-type game was more important than the love of his life's feelings - he really needs a wise friend to set him straight. In 704 Raiders Minimization L cynically manipulated P by exploiting her softheartness - and made it worse by boasting to H about it. I liked the scene where L got his comeuppance - because he deserved it, as well as the other obvious reason for liking that scene. In 711, after Penny told a witty and believable story that involved L wetting himself as a natural part of the story, L told one that had P wetting herself arbitrarily tacked on. Worse, he laughed gleefully at A's nasty story that portrayed P as sluttish (not that it wasn't kind of fun to watch.). In fact L quite often laughs at P in company.

But overall S7 has great Lenny stories and it's one of my favourites. 712 the Hesitation Ramification is a gem. Absolutely brilliant acting by KC - none of it's particularly funny, but she shows P's feelings so beautifully. Also acts drunk with perfect control. What puzzles me, if TBBT insists on wasting KC these days, why doesn't some film company make her a better offer? She could have been a bigger star.

I really disagree with the bolded part. She was definitely mocking him so he just did the stupid story to get even. It was immature and stupid but I don't think it was THAT bad and uncalled for.

I technically agree. Most people feel they're upset because they're not the center attraction. I think they're upset at it being the Sheldon Cooper show. Seems as though every episode revolves around Sheldon. I feel they want the show to return to an ensemble show and not singular actor show with guests as it has been the last year or two. But they get paid good money to do 2 to 2,5 minuets of screen time. So that's a positive. They get to sit back and watch Jim and Mayim trying to learn their lines and attempt to be believable.

All we have is a few hints of what we might get in the first, episode, or perhaps the first two. It's a bit early to worry we might not get  full exposure of all the characters once more. I'm hoping for some good ensemble episodes, or episodes where we see the separate households concerned with one theme rather than four separate stories.  For all we know the coming season holds great things for all our gang members and even Stuart. Lenny have a great opportunity before them now they have fledged their adult babies. None of the friends have to refrain from doing anything now for fear of Sheldon's reaction. He has a wife who's been brave enough to take him on : let her  take his crap or not, she's more than capable of controlling and steering him, thanks to Penny's raising of her, and she's crackers anyway. We may be going to see a fun-filled season, largely led by Lenny with just enough Sheldon to support YS .

To be honest, no one wanted her on their team. Sheldon got stuck with her by drawing her name. And getting a friend to set him straight, who's going to do that? Penny is the one he goes to for relationship advice. The others are clueless in that area. Penny did start the snarky comments in 7 and escalated on 8. I believe 7 was when the writers started messing with Lenny to make Shamy the better couple. Then the stupid episode about the couples test in the magazine where shamy was the best couple an Lenny was below Raj/Cinnamon. To me, that was a complete waste of 20 some odd minutes. I mean the commercials were better than that episode. Basically all you mentioned was the writers dissing Lenny.

I'm hoping you're right. But as long as Shamy lives across the hall, they'll never be completely shed of them. They'll still interrupt their lives with useless crap! Amy's marrying Sheldon is all on her. She has no one but herself to blame. The entire members of the gang warned her. 😊

It's time for my Lenny wishlist for season 12:

  • Bedroom scenes (incl. pillow talk)
  • A nice makeout scene
  • Plot(s) regarding Lenny's future
  • Lenny scenes outside of 4A
  • Lenny visiting family (either in Nebraska or New Jersey)
  • A Penny at work plot

That list is completely doable. But don't be surprised to see Shamy accomplish your wonderful list.

This is actually one of my favorites in season 8. It was clear, IMO, that this ranking had no foundation. It was kind of proven in the end where Lenny came out of it stronger (after Leonard's beautiful words), which was also a testemant to their strength as a couple, and Shamy were not in a good place (they broke up in this season's finale).

Hm, the reason on the writers was to shake the usual pairings off. In this episode, Leonard's hesitation to bond with Penny was only just at the start. During the game he was pretty whining about it in front of Bitchy Bernadette, as I remember correctly.

Thanks to Penny and of course a lot of Sauvignon Blanc I survived this season at all. :icon_cheesygrin:

I stand by my statement!

They get paid to do what is asked of them, like any other actors on any other show. I wish I could believe that bothers them but I have seen nothing from them to make me think this is so. If anyone has any links I've missed I'd love to see them. I do not think they are upset. I think they continue to do the job they are paid to do and that they know this is the nature of the business. Story line emphasis comes and goes for actors. If they weren't happy with the way the show was going they would not have re-signed. The direction the show is going in now had already  begun before they did that.

He's just so whiny. He's always bothered me with how wussy and whiny he is.

Interesting thought. They (5 remaining cast) get paid damn good money for 2 minuets of air time and to watch Jim and Mayim bust their rear ends remember their lines. I believe that's a win-win situation!

But not for the viewers who are old-line TBBT fans rather than Shamiacs.

The win-win is for Kaley, Johnny, Simon, Kunal and Melissa. They get paid good money for a couple minutes and watch Jim and Mayim work extra hard!

I highly doubt that this is going to happen if you look back at previous seasons.

Yeah, clearly the writers have embraced the dark side of the force, known as Sheldonite!

Some fellows remain unbending and fight back figurative and literally.  :asciidity:

Leonard gave her some tips when she and Sheldon moved to 4B.

I'm thinking he left most the tips for Penny to tell her, He didn't want to freak her out and take the chance she may change her mind. Although Leonard did call "No Backies".

Sure. But I would have liked to have seen it "live" on screen. Another wasted opportunity...
...I think it was a mutual confusion. They've lived too long with this strange one-of-a-kind. 😀
