It's time to take a closer look:
Big Bang Theory 25 Wild Revelations About Leonard And Penny’s Relationship

screenrant.com

"It's safe to say that Big Bang Theory wouldn't be the same without Penny and Leonard. Indeed, their love story is the heart of the show. It's the classic tale of nerd falls in love with the pretty blonde. As a matter of fact, the show even portrays it that way. In a lot of ways, they're the perfect couple. They're opposites but it works for them. He's book smart and shy while she's street smart and outgoing. Like any love story, they have their ups and downs. Regardless, they're a world-famous TV couple."

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter that you don't think they are right for each other, it matters that they want to be with each other. It can that simple really, and it's that simple with Penny and Leonard. IMO

Wow, that article annoyed me sooo much. It feels like a "Let's stick it to Lenny" article, maybe secretly written by a Shenny fan or a Shamy fan who wants to make the point Shamy's better. They make them come off as a terrible couple and mostly make Penny come off real bad. They present things in a very inaccurate, sometimes straight out wrong, way, especially in the titles. I mean... "They don't really love each other"?! WTH?!

Yeah. After I had read the No1 of their theses, my sense of "reality" suddenly fell silent.

I agree with you both @veejay & @bfm. A real “backhanded complement “ article. Getting your attention with the lead-in, then twisting events to fuel the anti-Lenny agenda. Grrrrr!

Why on earth does anyone care about the rantings of someone who can't spell, let alone use an apostrophe correctly ? Journalists are supposed to be good at English. A so-called professional writer who doesn't trouble to do it properly can't  possibly have anything valuable to say.

What a load of garbage that was. Full of twisted half truths, misleading BS, outright factual errors and distorted timelines. And they couldn’t even get the screenrant.com spellchecker to fix 12. you’ve got a FrEInd in me. Embarrassing drivel that is an insult to one of the great and lasting legacies of the show. Just not needed.

Unbelievable, that entire article was nothing but a load of inaccurate statements and personal bias, it was just a load of bollocks.

I did think about writing down debunks for all the things the author got wrong , but i figured we all know that it was a load of BS. I mean come on, they say that Penny has often stated she only settles for Leonard. That really showed how ill-informed the author is , as Penny has never once said she settled for Leonard , let alone stated it often. The author is either a moron or a Lenny hater to get so much wrong about them.

I will say is that though and that is  Leonard has never only wanted to be with Penny just because of the way she looks.  It really annoyed me when that claim is made as nothing in the show supports that belief.

To be fair they didn't mention Shamy until #14 (counting backwards) and didn't mention Shenny at all unless you count the mention in #21 when she tried to help Sheldon so Leonard wouldn't want to move in and the #9 about the roommate agreement. This may have been a Lenny hatchet job but I didn't see it favoring Shamy or Shenny. The anti-Lenny agenda starts with the show's writers and this writer just picked up on it and focused on it.

I think they get that idea because he didn't know her when he first decided he wanted her. He had only seen her and knew nothing about her except what she looked like.  I realize I am playing devil's advocate here and bracing for the rotten tomatoes to be thrown at me, but I don't get the impression this writer is a hardcore fan of Lenny or even of the show. They're skimming over the party line (showrunners) too much to be hard core fans.

The showrunners imply this all the time, though, with the "wore her down" comments. I don't know why.

This is a throw away line; lip service to play to the "how can they possibly be together" crowd (which includes Sheldon, Howard and Raj).  We have seen that this is not the case with Penny......

So what,  a lot of people are instantly attracted to someone they meet that DOES NOT  mean that Leonard only wants Penny for the ways she looks and nothing else, and there is nothing in the show, showing  Leonard only wanting  Penny for her looks.

No, the showrunners DO NOT imply this all the time, that is just false.  The "Wore her down" comment has only been said a few times and was neither true or funny. Again nothing in the show supports the claim that Penny is only with Leonard because he wore her down, to think so is ridiculous. Just like him supposedly  begging her , badgering her or making her feel sorry for him   as the reason they are together. They are just as ridiculous as he wore her down joke, and nothing in the show supports those comments.

This was explicitly noticeable in season 10, which had also shown us the "fantastic" (not to say "imaginative") episode "The Romance Recalibration". All in all, I haven't managed to watch this complete season more than twice so far.

That's why I said "secretly". And I think this is way beyond "picking up" an anti-Lenny agenda. The writer distorted things, so much of the article is inaccurate or just plain wrong. As itwas said, it also presents a distorted timeline. It seems like the task the writer got was to write bad things about Lenny.

As for the "He wore her down" jokes, I hate those, but they were always presented, in story, as jokes. There was never a serious scene where Penny seriously says she's only with Leonard because he wore her down. When it comes to truthful moments, they all point to Penny really loving Leonard and wanting to be with him, not just choosing him because he's safe (it would be much less demanding for her to be with some jock) but because she's trully loves him, and Leonard loving Penny for who she is, not just her looks (and yes he was infatuated with her at first sight but the "Our babies will be smart and beautiful" line was after getting to know her a bit and he had several chances to be with other beautiful women).

And the multiple breakups is a contradiction within the show itself. Nothing pointed to those imaginary breakups at the time they supposedly happened. At best there could've been times when they had a talk that ended in Penny saying she needs to think or something like that and the next day she decided to stay with him, and then Leonard and the gang counted it as a breakup.

I agree with you and all others who say this is  BS.  Many items were just inaccurate or plain distorted views.  To say this was a Lenny bashing would be accurate. I don't believe this writer took the time to research as he should have. Also, I don't think he is the usual writer for screen.rant as the writer who usually covers TBBT is always fair in her assessments of Lenny.

All the writer had to do was look at that scene when Leonard tells Penny he won't donate his sperm and the look she gives him and their subsequent hug to see how much love they have for each other. But I guess he could not be bothered to take the time.

Some people, writers, can't see the forest for the trees!  8)

You're absolutely right. It also seemed very strange to me when I read the article.

Here's the link to other topics about TBBT and its authors.

I'm not saying it's true or funny. Just that I think the showrunners think it's funny. Not the same thing at all. If the showrunners were truly Lenny fans, you'd have quite a different show.

I'm not even sure why people keep posting articles from that site.  They're not even main stream media.

Just read on the season 12 DT that the April 2  taping no. 21 (the 276th episode) will again be about Shamy and the two scientists haggling for the Nobel prize nomination.  This makes three out of the last four episodes about Shamy quest for the prize. Don't these writers know how to write about anything else?  When will they get to the Lenny situation and if Raj and Anu will get married?

It's 15 minutes of shamy with the remaining minutes split up among the remaining cast and guests!
