Am I the only one who did not understand what was funny about the Sheldon making breakfast sequence? What was the audience laughing at? I really have no clue.

I was wondering that too. Maybe because the audience could see Leonard sleeping on the couch. But Sheldon’s breakfast ceremony wasn't funny in itself, was it?

What a waste of episode. Both storylines were so boring.

Hope we go back to the Shamy science plot again, at least that has some real and viable potential.

I did like the Sheldon parts--made me laugh out--him trying to get zac and Marissa to choose him to donate and when he woke up Amy because he found Leonard on the couch--'I told you if we left pizza out we'd attract something'

Sheldon being oblivious that Leonard was lying on the couch.

As someone who’s been to a taping, sometimes the experience of being there live sort of compels you to laugh. It went on for so long the absurdity of him making breakfast oblivious to the fact Leonard was on the couch and the unexpected nature of that much time passing without Sheldon uttering a sound elicited a response from the audience. When I look back at the episode I saw taped, I often wonder, why did I laugh at that? That’s wasn’t funny. But I just did. Possibly because others did. IDK.

This episode just reinforced the Penny pregnancy, probably in the finale. Why she didn’t say she was changing her mind her actions spoke differently. Why try preventing Leonard from donating his sperm? It appeared Penny hadn’t worn that outfit in quite awhile.

As for the episode itself it was okay. Not enough Zack and Marissa. Wyatt made his point. Penny quite honestly just looked bad in this episode. Very childish IMO and may be the reason she doesn’t want kids.

I don't see her actions as supporting her changing her mind at all. Yes, she knows what she wants is not what her dad and husband want, and feels guilty, and I suppose she might change her mind, but I didn't see that here. Him donating to her ex husband was just plain weird, as was pointed out more than once during the course of the storyline.

Everyone was just waiting for him to notice Leonard, I think.

I don’t think she changed her mind. But she wasn’t adamant about not having children. Kind of like a politician moving from a liberal to more moderate. While Penny in her underwear got guys gawking there was a point in her behavior. Obviously she didn’t want Leonard to donate but why? She was okay before with his decision. Leonard made a comment towards the end after telling Zack no about putting the blue outfit back on and she said nothing. I don’t think this story is over yet and expect to seeZack and Marissa again.

No, I actually thought it was the biggest waste of a minute of the show I’ve seen in recent years.  It is like the writers were purposely reminding us this is the Sheldon Show and therefore we must suffer through some gratuitous Sheldon time, because honestly how would the scene have really changed if Sheldon had just found Leonard immediately upon entering the room.  The could have used that minute in the Lenny bedroom scene which was much more funny.

I also liked that Wyatt agreed to respect Penny's decision and told her he was not disappointed at her. That was important and I'm sure some people who decided not to have kids have been through conflicts with their parents.

It seems though that this is the end for the possibility of Hofstadter children. Penny said she regreted her plan because she felt she was disappointing Leonard and Wyatt. That is not a reason to have kids, that is not having some underlying fear while wanting to have kids. That is not wanting kids. As much as this change of mind, IMO, did not make sense for the character and what we've seen on the show before, this is the situation now - Penny truly doesn't want kids. .

Penny’s regret is the thing that makes me wonder if this is all over.  It seemed to me that regret over how she had hurt Leonard (again) with this stance she is taking and how it was disappointing her father, hung very heavy on her at the end of this episode.  That is why I felt it left an opening for a change of heart in a later episode.

Exceptionally boring episode. I Still feel Penny does not want kids, nothing happened to change her mind that I could see. I do like that neither Leonard or Wyatt tried to change her mind. They will still love and support her no matter if she has kids with Leonard or not. That was good to see. For me, it was a very forgettable episode to go with a forgettable final season.

I’m sorry but the story line that has been boring this season is the Sheldon/Shamy asymmetry plot because it is unrealistic, them getting a Nobel for it is ridiculous and it has been drug out so long that it is very BORING.  I think some of the time they spent on asymmetry would have been better used in completing the tenure story line that they began in season 6.

I feel the way they have concentrated on Sheldon in season 12 is the main reason season 12 is so bad.  I also see the heavy concentration on Sheldon and Shamy in season 11, with the wedding, and season 12, with asymmetry, as the reasons for the decline of the show.

Sheldon Cooper trying to make a donation to someone like Zack is the pinnacle of this stupid plotline.

Stupid indeed and a totally unnecessary diversion from the storyline. It doesn't fit  with what he's said before and takes focus away from the issue under discussion.

I am entitled to share  to my opinion of the episode , even if it is different from yours. I stick by my opinion that this was a boring episode to go with a boring season. Where in my posting did I even mention asymmetry plot being exciting? Attack someone else...

Agree with you. It must have been Sheldon not noticing Leonard for a couple minutes. Nothing funny in him making breakfast.

Agreed, this is only my opinion, but I do have some logic behind my opinion.  If you remember Occam's razor which demands that scientists accept the simplest possible theoretical explanation for existing data.  Season 12 is boring and the asymmetry plot has dominated this season, and season 11 was considered subpar also and the Shamy wedding, plus asymmetry, dominated that, so using Occam’s razor Sheldon/Shamy are the reason for the last two declining seasons of the show.

No one is attacking you. If you want everyone to agree with you there is a thread for that. He gave his opinion. Is that not allowed?

If you think it’s because of that and that’s how you feel then that’s fine. For me personally, all the ongoing storylines haven’t been interesting or have in my view been poorly crafted hence why I am not feeling it at all this season.

When’s the last time this show had been about science? It’s a rom-com. Proof of that is when two guys want to donate sperm in behalf of Zack.  Grant it at least the kid would have a good chance to look like Marissa. Then again it could have her intelligence.

It could also look like Sheldon and have Marissa’s intelligence, if Amy had let Sheldon donate.  Boy Amy really drowned that kitty quickly when Sheldon suggested he donate to solve Zack's problem.

I've only seen the previews so far, but Penny looked pretty :heat: in that blue outfit (what there was of it) that she wore to bed.

Almost as :heat: as Amy.

Penny looked smoking hot and Amy was cute! But I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

She lowered the boom and squashed that idea on the spot. As  Barney Pife said in the Andy Griffith Show, "She Nipped it in the Bud".
