If it's allowed, I would like to add some additional information from the press release. I think (not only on my interest) this reference also could be interesting.

From Glamour

The Big Bang Theory Season 12, Episode 20 Recap: Leonard's New Future Surprises Penny

Sheldon and Amy have taken center stage on The Big Bang Theory the last few weeks, but with less than five episodes left it was time to press pause on Nobel Watch 2019 to focus on the other main characters, specifically Leonard and Penny.

I thought it was ok...glad to see Leonard finally stop being such a people pleaser. He usually let's everyone walk right over him. Penny and Sheldon especially. Other than that there really not much to discuss. Now if he would only stand up to his mom...I am more curious with what happens to that storyline.

Fairly good episode. Granted anything other than the Nobel storyline looks Emmy worthy. Overdue Leonard episode. Think his part of the story doesn’t end tonight. Though I don’t see Leonard quitting or moving. The Raj storyline was cringeworthy. It seems to me if you have Anu on the storyline should revolve around her. The tag was unnecessary.

Nice to see Anu again. I thought they had forgotten she existed.

Nice to see the planetarium. I thought they forgot it existed. But Raj's jokes during his presentation were ridiculous and I'm tired of everything he does having to run through the Howardette filter.

Penny does not want to move. I hope that is the end of that because I never saw them as ready to move anywhere.

I'm tired of the writers making plot after plot about how wussy Leonard is and how much he needs to be more assertive. Nice twist, though, that he didn't get what he wanted but he got something.

It was nice to watch he got his spot(light).

I watched it because I wanted to see the Leonard plot. I didn't skip the Raj parts and I regret that a bit...

The Leonard plot... It was nice and I'm glad he got something he feels good about at work. It was also nice that Penny was (reasonably) supportive, like I would actually expect her character, and didn't go against him just to serve a joke like in that weird GoT episode. However, it felt like they'd cancelled previous similar episodes. I mean, we've had episodes over the years with Leonard trying to stand for his own and this felt like these never happened. It was even expressed in the wardrobe - Leonard were a hoodie for the first in a long time (I think generally he stopped wearing them around season 8, with some rare hoodie appearances here and there). It didn't feel like the breakthrough I guess it was supposed to feel like, both because of the disregard of the previous episodes and the rushing of it. Leonard was cute, Johnny IMO was great as he always is and gave away a genuine feeling. I chuckled at his reasoning about the dinner, it was true! And I liked the more affectionate Lenny moment of course. Overall though I felt this plot could've been better.

BTW, IMO the Shamy scene at the stairs felt redundant, and Sheldon was redundant in the later Lenny scene.

The Raj plot was... meh. IDK, the premise was okay but the jokes weren't very good. Howard and Bernadette at the planetarium were the funniest part I guess, but Howard made quite a jerky move. He would've known what he said would get Raj in a mess.

Low moment of the episode - Amy saying Leonard went for "getting" Penny regardless of what Penny thought. That made him look like an enormous jerk. Really unnecessary. (Personally I also didn't like the talk about "getting" her with no reservation remembering that she's not an object)

Also, is it just me or was there a big timing problem with her reaction about Sheldon's lunch notes? An editing problem I guess...?

I find it true. He kept going back and back and back...he was pretty relentless in my mind.

But it's not that Penny is with him against her will, I found that implication revolting!

I don't think it felt like a breakthrough moment either...he is just not a person to ruffle any feathers.. Even when he was supposed to be thinking of what he wanted as opposed to the rest of the group he just had so much trouble asserting himself. The very idea of being selfsh once in awhile just is not in Leonard's personality. It was nice, but kind of funny watching him try to assert himself.

I liked the Shamy scene on the stairs. It showed that Sheldon really does care about Leonard. All though I already knew that... Also, it showed how far Sheldon has come expressing his feelings and emotions.

See, I get the intentions, but it didn't work for me. I just wasn't sold on it. Not that I think it wasn't true narrative-wise, it's just that the execution didn't convince me. Maybe if Sheldon seemed more concerned about Leonard losing his job... In the latter scene in 4A Sheldon seemed to revert back to trying to get center stage, maybe they should've focused on him being concerned about Leonard then...

As much as Sheldon has grown, there is always going to be part of him that reverts a little bit. Sheldon wouldn't be Sheldon if he was completely comfortable expressing his feelings. I think that for Sheldon to admit his concern over Leonard possibly losing his job is huge. Any more and it would be too far out of character for him. I thought  it was perfect amount of Sheldoness.  I thought it was very well executed.

I would like to see Leonard continue to try and be more assertive. I am curious if he can stand up to Beverly. I am curious if he stands up to Penny about why no kids.

It's not like this hasn't been discussed in various ways before. It's an ongoing joke that should have died by now.

Surprisingly i actually quite enjoyed this episode, it wasn't great but it was much better than the last few episodes.  Some parts of it didn't work the whole Raj thing was pretty crap. Leonard standing up for himself worked for the most part , it was great to see him sit whee Sheldon normally does and not care what Sheldon thought. Although in my opinion that should have happened years ago as soon as Sheldon moved out in fact, letting dictate who sits there when it's not his home should never have happened.

Also while the main plot was Leonard, it for had way to much Sheldon/Shamy involved in it. I mean when they get the main plot Leonard and Penny get hardly anything, yet in the Sheldon/Amy/Shamy got quite a bit which was annoying.

Yes, but this was even worse than "she settled", IMO. At least "she settled" implies her will. That joked implied against her will. It wasn't their intention but they should consider their words, this is scripted, not spontaneous...

True! It's as if they go out of their way to insult Leonard and or Lenny! This episode, from what I've read, wasn't so bad!

It wasn't  bad at all IMO, it was just this joke that was in bad taste.
