Also, Wolowitz is happily surprised to learn that Bernadette wasn’t the only waitress at the Cheesecake Factory who had a crush on him back in the day. John Ross Bowie, Joshua Malina, Sean Astin and Kal Penn guest star.

dysfunctionalsymmetry Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 I'm so disappointed! I hope this isn't considered a spoiler now but... they did shoot a scene where Howard and Raj went to the Cheesecake Factory and creeped out a waitress. Kunal had some trouble saying Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake so he said it a few times to himself as the cameras were rolling. But this scene just made the scene between Bernadette and Howard so much sweeter. Personally I preferred this subplot as I didn't agree with the ending much as in academia real plagiarism doesn't work out that way. The whole gang's one scene together this time I think was supposed to be longer because right after Sheldon introduced the problem and they all sat down there were supposed to be more lines, but the writers must have changed it at the last second because they were all confused! And right before the scene where Amy and Sheldon were talking over dinner Jim had his lines on cue cards and snuck them in the bookshelf right before they started. veejay Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 (edited) The Big Bang Theory Season 12, Episode 21, Recap: Amy and Sheldon Are One Step Closer to the Nobel glamour.com "Tonight's Big Bang Theory opens with a “Previously on…” which means only one thing: We’re about to get an entire episode focused on Sheldon and Amy and Nobel Watch 2019. I’m OK with it, as long as not too much time is spent on Drs. Pemberton and Campbell. With only three episodes left, I want as many scenes with the main cast members as possible."... ..."I’m going to get a migraine just from trying to follow this episode." Die Zimtzicke Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 I wish we could have seen the cheesecake factory one more time. Glad to see John Ross Bowie, though, I adore Kripke because he's always funny. Sleazy is for sure where he thrives, but it's always well done. Jim said the why would you think that line perfectly about them being friends with the competition. I thought perhaps Siebert was giving us a hint that someone else would win, but now I'm not sure. I didn't like the writers implying again that Penny was an airhead at school and couldn't get through a classic book but it didn't surprise me in the slightest. The dialogue about Shamy's anniversary was funny because it was so typical of something Sheldon would do. Penny can't believe Amy told Sheldon? Seriously? That's what everyone on this show does, always. That was a given from the moment she told Amy. The fight in the dining room over the ex, Linda, was funny. Everyone's comedic timing was good there. I don't know what Linda saw in the two of them, either. For this season I'd rate this ep pretty high, but this season doesn't have a lot of high points to that's not saying much. That's a bummer, I think it would've been so nice to have a TCF scene in one of the very last episodes. It was quite a big part of the show. SRAM Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Ever since this whole Super Asymmetry plot started, at Shamy’s wedding, Leonard has been Shamy’s biggest supporter and helper. This episode was another example about how good a friend Leonard has been in Shamy’s quest for a Nobel. Since Leonard has been helping them so much, wouldn’t it be great if now, since Drs. Pemberton and Campbell screwed up their chances for a Nobel, that Shamy has Leonard experimentally confirm their theory a second time only this time it being part of Shamy’s work and they include Leonard in their 3-person Cal Tech Nobel submission. Now that would be a nice real surprise ending for the show.
Sah Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 I liked the episode. I thought it was quite a bit funnier than the previous episodes from this season. I really enjoyed the bedroom scene that Shamy had. I enjoyed the anniversary lines. I thought the fight scene was really funny as well. I enjoyed they showed more of Amy and Sheldon's moral values instead of gung ho at any price. Lenny were funny tonight as well. I was glad to see they still have bedroom as it is rarely seen. Leonard and Penny prove time after time they deserve a Nobel in Friendship. Penny was funny during the group group dinner and it made me think of what she could possibly be hiding. I loved it in general. Zephon75 Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Well, that was not a good episode quite boring in fact, it was good to have Siebert and Kripke in but that didn't help the episode. Lenny showed they are truly the best friends anyone could ask for, but it leaves me wondering would anyone go out of there way to help them as they do others?. I was disappointed we didn't get to see the TCF and maybe who this other woman was, oh well.

This would be great way to end it. 3 hours ago, Zephon75 said: Well, that was not a good episode quite boring in fact, it was good to have Siebert and Kripke in but that didn't help the episode. But he did help with the theory, citations, and then if he did the expirament to confirm it it seems like he could. This is just a TV show. Most people say that It is a project not worthy of Nobel but he'll, is they are going to put Shamy on the nomination why not Leonard as well. Not sure of likely hood but as a fan I say that would be amazing.

Only the authors of the paper on the project are considered for the award.
Capt. Hilts Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 (edited) It's kind of like NASCAR racing - each team has a couple of drivers in the race and they support the top driver on their team by blocking others, etc. I enjoyed this one, but not the Howard-Bernadette plot. That one was a real step backwards. Edited May 3, 2019 by Capt. Hilts

Too bad the lame storyline didn’t go with them. On a side note why do they need to recap what happened in last weeks episode. It unnecessarily kills time. Are they catering to viewers with memory loss? Edited May 5, 2019 by Chrismo

A missing scene is the opposite of spoiler, I should think. Thanks for telling us about it. It makes more sense now. This is a reason I love TRs from audience members : we find out what's missing. As Chrismo says, if they hadn't wasted so much time on the 'previously' bit, they could have left the Cheesecake Factory scene in.
