1221 'The Plagiarism Schism' (May 2)

Over the 12 seasons a lot of episodes have been described as Worst Episode Ever, but I think we have a clear winner with this one. Utterly ridiculous to focus on Amy's moral dilemma. She can be very funny but she has been given no inner life and when she's not funny she's boring. And she wasn't funny.

I can hardly believe that with just 3 more eps to go they would focus on Amy.

As I enjoy each character from this show for different reasons and I am able to praise even those that are not my favourite, I really loved what Leonard thought to do for help Sheldon and Amy.

Because they deserved and was fair, Leonard said and implied.

That's what a friend would do for us and this show is always about friendship, for better and worse.

From right actions or not so right.

Well done, writers!

Btw, Amy , you still make me laugh and smile since your first episode. Girl, you never let me down! ❤

But isn't friendship supposed to be a two way street. In the last episode (12.22) Sheldon was not a good or respectful friend to Leonard after all he had done for him to help him towards his Nobel dream. Rallying support from ppls who sheldon have abused in the past. Great way of paying back Leonard's loyalty. As usual, all sheldon thought of was himself. Leonard was in pieces in that episode and needed a friend. Kiddos to Amy who proved she is more of a friend.

We've had this discussion many times in the past--don't we all know Sheldon by now? The writers did not like to be predictable so they have let Sheldon shine at times when we least expected--he has stuck up for all his friends in the past at one time or other--its just always been at random times. As Sheldon explained in the finale--he'll do the best he can.... he'll always be a 'left-handed monkey wrench'

Interesting, but I don't  buy it.

Not a big shocker

I guess it's no surprise we disagree. There is considerable evidence to that fact. In the end, we're two people with different opinions.

Yes and I do agree to that. Sheldon is my favorite character even if people are going to continue to paint him in an ugly picture--He will always be my favorite character.

Sheldon paints himself in an ugly picture with his actions. He needs no help in that regard.

I believe he has been inconsistently written that way by the writers as the other characters have, at times, too...they are all incredibly flawed.

True, but not as much as Sheldon.

Seems to me you're looking at Sheldon thru rose colored glasses. That's alright, he's your favorite.

And mine, as I stated because he's the most unique and interesting character. I like him because of that. It's why I liked Penny the least. I'd seen too many characters just like that. Nothing about her ever jumped out at me as being something different than what I'd seen before  at least a dozen times and maybe more. I'd never seen anyone on TV before like Sheldon.

I like Penny because she puts Sheldon in his place and don't take any crap from him or the other guys. If you haven't noticed, Sheldon's my least favorite. He's tied with Raj!

Seriously? Penny put with A LOT of crap from Sheldon. Her saying he should stay is why they didn't have him move out immediately when Lenny got married. She let a lot of insults in general slide from everyone, and it's not like Leonard stepped up and defended her when she was being called a slut, etc.

If Penny HAD stuck up for herself more I'd have liked her a lot better and if Leonard had stuck up for her more I would've liked him better.

Yeah, they couldn’t have Leonard stand up for himself, because then he would be a jerk.   They already had Sheldon, being  an equal opportunity jerk to everyone.

Sheldon was already the jerk of the show. they didn't need Leonard, Penny or the others to bed jerks as well. Leonard and Penny tried to placate the giant baby known as Sheldon.

Yes she did, but also put him in his place as well. He was totally scared pf Penny and it showed throughout the running of the show!

I don't think he was ever scared of her. That's not the right word for what I saw. I still say the show went downhill when they made them friends, though. They were much funnier as adversaries.

He was definitely scared of her. Notice he never woke her up before 11 AM for fear of her reaction. That's one example. I agree the show was funnier and better with them as adversaries!

Yes  She did put up with alot of crap from him over the years. All those slut shaming and promiscuity insults got to be too much. And why they never had Leonard give it back to him after they were engaged/married is beyond me.  The way Sheldon kept up the insults and condescension to everyone and also belittling Amy made him to be a very unlikeable character for me at the end. And I agree the adversarial confrontations with Sheldon and Penny was comedy at its best.
