Could not agree with you more.  I think he really believes he is Beverly's son and Leonard is just some waif who is in the way.  Showing complete disregard for Leonard's feelings. So glad to see Amy giving him the clear explanation of how Leonard reacts.  Thought Penny would have reamed Beverly a new one but she cut herself short in doing so.

Beverly has always acted that way, as if she liked Sheldon better than Leonard and they all three know it, so why is this a big surprise? What is a big surprise is that after years of this, they suddenly had Leonard decide he has to accept his mother for what she is and it turns into a big fuzzy warm hug. If this is how they wrap up long running things I think the finale is going to disappoint a lot of fans.

As for Penny reaming someone out I've seen that suggested a million times but she RARELY does it. She's not as confrontational as some fans make her out to be.

I didn't see that hug as warm and fuzzy, more like painful, heavy. It was Beverly finally recognizing her faults. That doesn't make me think things will be great with them in the future, I believe she would still be distant and critical, but it's on the table for the both of them now and Leonard is making strides in making peace with it as much as he can. I thought it was a breakthrough but not one that was a complete, unrealistic revolution. She didn't shower him with praise or begged for his forgiveness all of a sudden.

I have no reason why! He's useless as a friend! That's why I like the way Kripke and Leslie Winkle reacted around him. they didn't take his crap!

There were dozens of times when someone all but accused her of being slutty or a drunk and it was NOT always Sheldon and she didn't fight back, and Leonard didn't even fight back on her behalf. But she has gotten along way better with Beverly than Leonard has for the most part so I didn't see her pushing back TOO badly here. She likes, on some level I think, being the favorite in-law.

Although the Raj/Anu/Howard plot was very good, I do have an observation.  I may be in the minority here but from my POV didn't Howard seem a little selfish in trying to persuade Raj not to go, like he was loosing his best friend to play with. Remeniscient of season 3 when Raj and Sheldon worked long hours together and Howard did not know what to do with himself but go to Penny and Leonard and annoy them as a third wheel in their relationship.  I am not saying Howard should not have done this as he was trying to be a caring best friend. But isn't  better for Raj to decide for himself instead of being nudged one way or the other. And if this was the last time we see Anu it was such a waste of a plot line

We don't know yet what Raj's ultimate decision will be. Anu didn't know he was coming to propose.  Raj and Anu discussed the matter months ago : they shouldn't just be marrying faut de mieux, but should date and get to know one another. They've not had long, really. I think Bernie was right to send Howard to apply the brakes. Raj didn't take much persuading. Sure, if Raj now meets a soulmate who's like him but who's also practical and organised, and to whom he's not a dickhead, Howardette will have been right about his welfare and gained themselves a friend they can get on with. But what Raj and Anu will eventually do stays in the air for now.

I don’t think so, that seemed a bit like Leonard closing his laptop on Priya.  I admit he hasn’t apparently told her he is/or isn’t coming (breakups are not his strong point).  But.he pretty much said they like/not love each other and he chose Howard.

Man, it's kinda awkward jumping in to post but I haven't been here in a while. I felt the Raj-Anu part wouldn't work out to begin with. It's sad that Raj felt he had to settle and get himself married to be happy and I also think Anu didn't force him to think of going to London. His friends and work are in California. He's miserable/not happy because he had to make the choice of leaving everything that kinda mattered to him for something he's just forcing himself to settle into. For me, I'm glad they got it over with.

Now with Leonard, I would admit I cried to the scene but I didn't expect his mother to accept his forgiveness as I thought for her, she thinks of Leonard as somewhat a research subject for her all this time. It felt a little bit out of character for me but I guess part of her understands he has been exasperated with her not fully making him feel like an actual son. I don't know, I guess part of me just got used to her always telling Leonard he's needy and after the hug she'll throw him an insult again. I cried because she didn't and I felt it in behalf of Leonard.

But they screwed that aspect up for me by having him say he hadn't been happy for years. When she asked him if he was happy now he said no and I couldn't see why.

Agreed. They took that a bit too far. He's been happy with his friends, just not with the romance area.

Maybe because he hasn't gotten married yet and he's sad and anxious about that.

I guess we have to wait for our friends, the writers, to tell us. If they do!  😊

I have just had the chance of watching this episode and I could not pass the chance of saying I really enjoyed Leonard and Beverly moment.  It broke my heart as there is and will be always an emotional distance between them that not matter how Leonard try, Beverly may not quite connect with him. Finnaly Leonard found the courage  as he could say loud some things that really hurt him about it.

I loved this because it closed somehow the circle of Leonard's character since s1: he mostly faced his fears all this years(seasons) and got one of the most important steps for he finnaly fix somehow his relationship with his mother.  For another new book or not, the truth is Beverly also tried to face her fears and could do finally a beautiful affectional gesture to her son. Bravo, tbbt staff!

I thought this was very badly-structured. They should have concentrated on B, L and P in 4A.  I don't care about Raj, I first thought Denise was fun but now I find her just boring, and it's TOO LATE to sort out either Raj or S&D.

I thought Beverley was really going to get into things with L & P and the No Kids issue would be explored, but no. When P went to the bedroom L didn't follow her to talk, instead he went across to S & A. What a ridiculous couple to consult about anything . And couldn't we for once have a real Lenny ep, without bringing in Amy?

A lot of the action and dialogue seemed more or less random, like it was written by interns.

I wish the writers would make up their mind, about Sheldon's driving ability. 🙄

I've always found them pretty consistent in that he's not very good at it and avoids it when he can although he criticises whoever's driving him. Amy taught him although for three years he kept from her the fact that he'd passed his driving test, which he admitted to Howard he'd barely succeeded at.
