I think the Nobel story line was about the struggle to achieve, working as a team, the politics of it all, not the prize itself.  I haven't made up my mind yet but I am leaning towards them not getting a nomination for this project.

Shamy could be nominted but not win the prize.

So what is the happy ending here? Just knowing they will have kids someday thanks to info from Young Sheldon? That is the ending for them? Nothing from the original show? Just from what Sheldon said before on a different show? That doesn't sound fair.

To be honest I wouldn't go off what those pictures show, as they could be misleading.

Given the title for the finale and the fact we have suffered this Super Asymmetry story arc all season , it is very unlikely they will end it without Shamy getting the Nobel Prize. As they wouldn't have spent so so so much time on this boring story arc if it was going to end in failure.

Also I find it interesting that you are saying that it doesn't sound fair if they get nothing in the original show. As didn't you say Leonard should be happy that he has Penny and doesn't need anything else?.

The truth is the finale will be all about Shamy just like the whole season has they are not going to change that. Sure they might give the others something but the focus will be on Shamy.

I would hazard to guess there has been much more time spent on the Nobel prize than there has been on Raj

Thanks for being my counselor. We really don't know. Perhaps that is what has me edgy. I usually have a little idea at least.

It kills me not to have any idea at all about what to expect.

Thanks again Vonmar ❤️

I think as long as they're together and healthy we can be happy. Mayim said they do tape a very emotional scene together. I love to see her and Jim work their awesome acting skills...

There's not a lot of room. Perhaps there's one in a new house they move to.

My point was that they have wasted lots of time on other story arcs that went nowhere.

I have a feeling that most of the photos they released for the last 2 episodes are from Episode 23 (The Constant Change) and not Episode 24

They wasted way too much time on the Nobel arc and those visiting scientists.

The scene where a surprise guest appeared and the audience gasped must have been cut. I wonder who it was ? Does anybody know? You can tell us now.

Really ? What a damp squib. After all the distinguished guests from the real world, I was expecting somebody special. Their majesties played by the real ones at least, or even Ringo. What's another TV or film actor more or less ? I heard some laughter but no signs of surprise from the audience. Thank you.

Heh, over a year ago, I suggested that SMG should guest-star on The Big Bang Theory.

The Sarah Michelle Gellar thing was okay-ish... I felt there should have been a bit more time on that. I mean that in the comedy aspect, because there wasn't anything major there character-wise. Also, how the heck did he get her to come with him?! I feel like something has been cut.

Apparently he may have just charmed her. Since there was nothing explicit we get to just fill it in ourselves in our heads. I think it was kind of perfect. The had a star celebrity come on but did not take time away form the story.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was not a show I watched more than an episode of two of and I did not care for it myself but it has been mentioned on TBBT before. Having her appear was very TBBTish.

Quote

Executive producers Steve Molaro and Steve Holland revealed how they were delighted to get the star on board for the cameo. ‘Steve and I are both big Buffy fans – as are a lot of people in the [writers’] room,’ Holland told Entertainment Tonight. Buffy herself made an appearance (Picture: CBS) ‘And rather than going for whoever is the hot right now celeb, it seemed like a really cool, nerd-pull for these characters who have been fans of Buffy forever too.

Just as this final season was not outstanding, neither was the finale. It was good but it didn't touch some of the great finales of all time, like MASH, Newhart or Mary Tyler Moore. It was a laundry list of answered questions, just to answer them.

Nobel prize- check.
Elevator fixed- check.
Can Amy look decent with effort- check. She looked lovely, but I knew Mayim could.
What do the Wolowitz kids look like- check
Is Stuart still a sad sack- check.
Lenny pregnant- check, never mind what her issues were or the fact that is has to happen after she gets dunk with Sheldon.
Surprise guest start- check, although I thought it was majorly lame and I am a huge Buffy fan, and used to write fanfic for it.
Why does Leonard wear a hoodie- check.
Does Sheldon love his friends and do they love him- check.

I was just not overly impressed with this. The cast's performances were great, don't get me wrong, but this season has just been a disappointment for me from start to finish.

Yes, they do tend to include actors from their favourite shows. That's why I was expecting somebody special : actors from sci-fi appearing on TBBT are nothing out of the ordinary. Not that I knew who she was. I remember Leonard mentioning Buffy to Penny once and getting her to watch some of it. I never saw it.

Naughty naughty Metro BTW. It's a free paper distributed here and there in a few UK cities for people to find on their way to work. Some fans who'd watched episode 22 last night this morning stumbling across the review of next week's finale might not have been very pleased. Not everybody goes looking for downloads on the internet in the early hours of Friday.

Now to Lenny. I totally loved seeing them so chummy and happy together. Adroable. Now, I do like that they will have a baby, maybe more along the way. I also liked that it was Sheldon who brought up the smart and beautiful, since he was the one to shoot Leonard down at the time with his "Imaginary", and this was a bit like him recognizing he was wrong and showing how Leonard and Penny got there even though it seemed very unlikely at first (I mean in-narrative, not from the perspective of an audience watching a sitcom). However, I wish they did it differently. I wish it weren't an accident, and that we've gotten much more than just "It was an accident, I went drinking with Sheldon" and "She didn't (want kids) and now she does" (although that does match the out-of-the-blue-no-explanation-all-of-a-sudden "I don't want kids"). Penny did seem excited, they both seemed very happy. But I so wish we would've gotten much more about that... Why did she not want kids at first? If she changed her mind so easily it was probably more complicated than just not wanting them, perhaps something rooted in anxiety, insecurities, feelings of inadequacy. Touching on this could've made for a wonderful moment for Lenny, I think it would've been great even if they mentioned it as a conversation they had the month before. Why did she change her mind? How is she feeling right now (by that I mean telling us, in more details, not just showing her smile)? And more. I just feel like there could've been a big Penny moment there. I think she reall deserved it. To me that's the biggest miss of the finale. Even if they took just a minute or two for that it would've made th episode so much better, IMO.
Also, I think the little we've seen of pregnant Penny showed the potential it had. I think there were lots of laughs and beautiful moments missed there.

Totally agreed. I can find no fault with your analysis.

I went in expecting to be disappointed.  This last season was hard to watch.  There were things that didn't make sense and in the end, per usual, were in fact wasted plots.

Raj/Anu, Penny doesn't want kids, far too much drama in the Nobel plot...

So I went in expecting to be disappointed.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I won't analyze everything but again from a topical standpoint.  The writers never seem to think about the long term plots and just write some things (not all things ie...the drawn out Nobel plot) on a whim.

Howardette:  Loved seeing their kids.  I am sure that is what Melissa referenced.  She signed an NDA and so she needed carefully word anything that might be deemed spoiler-ish.  My guess is she had no clue until the last table reading or 2 that they would ever get to see their kids.  LOL!!!

Shamy:  I used to ship Shamy in the early days and had different hopes for them from their beginning point to where it turned out Sheldon just needed love.  But the writers did what they did and it was MEH for me.  My biggest gripe all along was how much Amy put up with.  Finally, she does what she wants and calls Sheldon out.  So AWESOME!!  Good for Amy for doing what she wanted but still loving him.  I liked her change and it fit her.  Raj was the perfect character to be part of that.  While I still feel like this Nobel was "forced," it worked for the finale in that Sheldon gave his heartfelt speech.  Maybe Sheldon FINALLY gets it.  At least, in that moment, he did.

Lenny:  KC nailed this.  Yes, there may have been more satisfaction in some kind of heart to heart.  But really...when has the TPTB really ever given that to Lenny?? Not that they had to...but this fits in line with Penny's character and how Lenny has gone over the years.  So for me, KC's acting is what nails this for me.  Does it just pound home how stupid an unnecessary the whole I don't want kids plot was...yup.  Have I come to expect this from tptb...yup.  So while I supported however the kids thing went...I wanted them both happy.  And I got that.  I can't complain for the finale.

My closing thought after viewing and thinking about it all.  Just imagine if they could have delivered an even, well thought out, planned season for all the main characters.  How different season 12 might have been?  The finale for me just reinforced my belief to some extent that the writers were phoning it in.

All my opinion.

Well, your post and opinion were perfect and really hit the bulls eye!   :sungum:
