They are in London now. Not sure what shows they will appear on. I have a friend from Italy who is hoping they travel there.

Great. Will keep an eye out. I wonder if this is why they started showing YS so far into its season, so it would still be on the TV when they were here ?

As of right now, Young Sheldon: The Complete First Season is scheduled to be released in Region 1 on Tuesday, September 4. Apparently, the Blu-ray version will be available online, via the Warner Archive Collection. No word yet about the DVD version, but I assume that it will be released to general retailers on the same day.

The DVD and Blu-ray releases have been confirmed for 9/4 by TVShowsOnDVD, via their Facebook page. Extras include "Young Sheldon: An Origin Story" and "Sibling Revelry." The DVD is a wide release, while the Blu-ray will be available via the Warner Archive Collection and Amazon.

My guess would be the station picked it up when they found out how well it was doing in Canada/USA.

British stations usually plan further ahead than that. How well a programme is doing elsewhere isn't necessarily a consideration.

Annie Potts Talks Bonding With Iain Armitage for ‘Young Sheldon’

Sheldon Cooper’s Meemaw was an iconic character long before “Young Sheldon” ever premiered on CBS. First introduced in “The Big Bang Theory” as Sheldon’s favorite family member, she was spoken about (and later depicted by June Squibb) as a warm-hearted, accepting woman. Annie Potts stepped into the role for the prequel, tasked with developing the relationship with Iain Armitage’s boy genius that would have such an impact decades later. Potts first appeared in the third episode of the first season of “Young Sheldon,” teaching Sheldon about the importance of bluffing — in poker and in life.

Annie made similar comments about her gray hair in these videos from the LA TImes. The first clip is actually part of the longer segment, which is also linked below:

It's worth repeating the CBS premiere news here. Like The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon will air two brand new episodes in premiere week. The show is once again airing right after The Big Bang Theory, on Monday, September 24 and then back to its regular time period on Thursday, September 27. https://young-sheldon.com/news/cbs-announces-season-premiere-dates/

Do they get a break from lessons when they're taping at this time of year ?

We did some studio tours in LA last year where we learned that the big ones have real onsite schools. A studio is apparently like a mini city 😊

If you can get a hold of the YS Season 1 iTunes content, there is a short making of YS where the children explain some details including their education situation. I am sure it will be included in the DVD edition as well!

Soms of them have their own trailers / private teachers.

Young Sheldon is back to work on Season 2

Thanks again for posting this 😊 Keep up the good work 😉

This is becoming so exciting now that I see the pictures! 😊

We don’t have any children so I think Raegan, Iain and Montana have become our substitutes over the past weeks 😊❤️

Ian talked about this in one of his interviews. He said he had his lessons separately from the other children in the show. I suppose that's because he's super clever, although he didn't say so himself. He told us where the classrooms were.

I'd like to know if they get a break from lessons when they're taping at this time of year. In most of England this week is when they break up for six weeks or so. Many independent schools broke up a month ago. They go back at the end of August or early September. If California vacations are the same, it would seem hard to keep children at their lessons when their contemporaries are out playing.

My guess is that we will soon see "high school Amy"

God, I hope not. "YS" is bad enough!

Do you really think YS is bad ? I not only think it's good but I like it.

No high school Amy, I'm sure.

What's bad about YS ? Mistakes in the scenarios ? Inaccurate scripting ? Anachronisms ? Poor acting ? Unlikely characters ?

Too much Sheldon is forcing brain damage, at least on me. LOL
