More like The Wonder Years I think. But then toss in a little Wallace Shawn.

With Wallace Shawn (Princess Bride) and Annie Potts (Ghost Busters) I think they are on to something  Perhaps it should have been named My Meemaw.

You mean Annie Potts from Corvette Summer, starring Mark Hamill.

Never saw it.

They were both still nobodies at the time from my point of view. I did not even become a star wars fan until I saw ESB. When I first saw SW I was disappointed.

Here's an old interview from CBS Watch's channel that I just stumbled upon. I really hope that we get some holiday episodes in season 2, i.e., Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas!

Would Mary allow Hallowe'en  ? In those days churches in England were trying very hard to discourage it. She was very anti the devils in Sheldon's comic books.

Even if she was anti-Halloween, I could see a potential story about Sheldon and Missy trying to sneak off to go trick-or-treating or something along those lines. Plus, Sheldon would be interested in all the costume possibilities. He even went as Stephen Hawking one year.

Of course ! I was forgetting about the fancy dress aspect in the USA, not necessarily related to the occult. It took me a few American sitcoms for that to sink in. Since cable TV, trick or treat has tended to replace penny- for-the-guy here. The police  in England are trying to stamp it out. I haven't been bothered for a few years now. I've heard it's a Scottish tradition.

There was also the story about him wanting to go as Madam Currie and his brother throwing away the costume so he had to go as a ghost.

From The Hollywood Reporter

Hollywood's Top 30 Stars Under Age 18

(a list - not a ranking)

Iain Armitage

AGE 10

KNOWN FOR Young Sheldon

"I love when people recognize me," says the Virginia boy who beat out hundreds for the part of a pint-size Jim Parsons in CBS' Big Bang Theory prequel, TV's top-rated new comedy. The son of actor Euan Morton and theater producer Lee Armitage will reprise his role as Shailene Woodley's son in the second season of HBO's Big Little Lies.

BEST PART OF BEING AN ACTOR "Getting to do something that makes people happy."

I WAS MOST STARSTRUCK BY … "Probably Mr. Lin Manuel Miranda. I've seen Hamilton six times. My dad is in the show."

I'M DYING TO WORK WITH … "If they were alive, David Bowie and Freddy Mercury. Those were the people I would be dying to work with most, no pun intended!"

WHEN I GROW UP, I WANT TO … "Probably do geology, gemology or be a magician. There is this magic trick called the fire wallet. It's a wallet and basically when you open it, it sets on fire but it's totally safe. I want that but you have to be 21 to get it."

Wow, so he’ll be doing two shows next season at that age?

I don’t watch Big Little Lies. Is it the same sort of commitment like a show every week?

Anyway I can’t wait for YS to return this fall. The subtle humour of the show is hillarious and Missy has become my favourite child (not that I had any before!). All of her comments are just great 👍🏻😊

Two shows would be a big commitment for an adult. How a school-age child, with all the education to fit in while adults are putting their feet up, copes I can't imagine. At that age they do tire. Iain Armitage must be good at conserving his energy.

Maybe he won't be working too much for Big Little Lies.

Based on this post from June 28, Iain is done filming his role in Big Little Lies.

Also, author Bruce Coville recently dropped by the set of Young Sheldon:

Here is some additional BTS stuff:

According to the Futon Critic, the previously scheduled episode, "A Crisis of Faith and Octopus Aliens," will now air on Thursday, September 27th. The season premiere will be "A Rival Prodigy and Sir Isaac Neutron." Here's the official synopsis:

"A Rival Prodigy and Sir Isaac Neutron" - When Dr. Sturgis (Wallace Shawn)
bonds with Paige (Mckenna Grace)
, another 10-year-old genius, Sheldon's jealousy leads Meemaw to intervene. Also, Mary invites Paige's family over for a play date, on the second season premiere of YOUNG SHELDON, on a special night, Monday, Sept. 24 (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

It's worth mentioning that Mckenna Grace often recurs as "Rose," Max's playdate/girlfriend, on Fuller House. Raegan previously posted photos of her and Rose on her Instagram account.

Is Paige a boy or a girl ?

You can't tell by the fact that the character is played by a girl or...?

I guess it's the fact that Paige can be also a first name for boys, even if it's pretty rare nowadays. In this case, it's a girl.

I know, hence why looking at who's playing the character might be a hint here. Kev added some information about the actress after all.

The character mentioned had a Scottish surname for a 'first' name and I didn't even know there was such a name as Paige, let alone the sex of it. Bloody hell, I only asked. Raegan is a girl's name but a boy actor uses it. Pardon me for showing an interest.
