The character mentioned had a Scottish surname for a 'first' name and I didn't even know there was such a name as Paige, let alone the sex of it. Bloody hell, I only asked. Raegan is a girl's name but a boy actor uses it. Pardon me for showing an interest.

No need to be cranky. I was merely confused by your question cause the answer seem already given in the post you quoted.

And don't worry, I do sympathise with your confusion about first names when it comes to stuff like "Mckenna" cause why the hell would you name a girl anything that means "Son of ..."!??!?

According to the Futon Critic, the previously scheduled episode, "A Crisis of Faith and Octopus Aliens," will now air on Thursday, September 27th. The season premiere will be "A Rival Prodigy and Sir Isaac Neutron." Here's the official synopsis:

"A Rival Prodigy and Sir Isaac Neutron" - When Dr. Sturgis (Wallace Shawn)
bonds with Paige (Mckenna Grace)
, another 10-year-old genius, Sheldon's jealousy leads Meemaw to intervene. Also, Mary invites Paige's family over for a play date, on the second season premiere of YOUNG SHELDON, on a special night, Monday, Sept. 24 (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

It's worth mentioning that Mckenna Grace often recurs as "Rose," Max's playdate/girlfriend, on Fuller House. Raegan previously posted photos of her and Rose on her Instagram account.

She also starred as Mary, a Math prodigy, in the movie "Gifted". I really like her, so happy she's guest starring!

From TV Line:

YOUNG SHELDON

In the Season 2 premiere, Mary suffers a “crisis of faith” after a teenager at her church is tragically killed in a car accident, exec producer Steven Molaro tells TVLine. “It comes down to Sheldon helping her believe in God again.” In the following episode, Sheldon meets a fellow prodigy named Paige (Fuller House‘s Mckenna Grace) in Dr. Sturgis’ class. “Paige is three weeks younger than [Sheldon] and as smart, if not smarter, than him,” Molaro says. “I don’t know if I’d call her a friend… I’d call her a frenemy.” Meanwhile, in Episode 3, “Sheldon is really bothered by a sound coming out of the refrigerator that only he can hear,” and takes it apart to see what’s causing it. There’s just one problem: He doesn’t know how to put it back together, and it costs the family $200 to repair. “George really, understandably, lays into him in a very dramatic moment,” while Missy offers her twin brother a shoulder to cry on. “Sheldon bursts into tears and Missy gets up off her bed and just holds him… It’s one of my favorite moments in Season 2 so far.”

BONUS SPOILER!: Big Bang Theory fans will be treated to another Easter egg when the game Mystic Warlords of Ka’a enters Sheldon’s life for the very first time.

RETURN DATE: Monday, Sept. 24 at 8:30/7:30c, before settling into its regular day and time, Thursday, Sept. 27 at 8:30/7:30c (CBS)

I've never know a schedule shift around this much.

If the episodes are already made, what's the reason for moving them ?

Maybe alignment with the progressing writing of TBBT? I am hoping that there is a hidden agenda which will only become clearer to us in time and at certain critical points like in the last episode of TBBT 😊

From TV Line:

Question: When I first heard about the Young Sheldon spinoff, I thought it was a terrible idea. Still, I gave it a chance and it slowly but surely won me over. Now, I can’t wait for Season 2. Any scoop on what to expect when it returns? —Karen
Ausiello: Showrunner Steven Molaro is getting ready to plant another Big BangEaster egg. “We learned on The Big Bang Theory at the end of last season that [Jerry O’Connell’s] Georgie [is] a tire expert and has a chain of shops,” the EP explains. “So we’re circling around [the idea] of [Montana Jordan]’s Georgie [on Young Sheldon] getting a part-time job at an auto shop and discovering his affinity for tires.”

From Deadline Hollywood    (video in the link)

Chuck Lorre Enrolls Jim Parsons, Steven Molaro, & WBTV To Create The Young Sheldon STEM Initiative

Keeping in the spirit of Young Sheldon TV universe,  Chuck Lorre has enrolled Young Sheldon executive producers Steven Molaro and Jim Parsons, Warner Bros. Television Group and CBS to create a new grant program appropriately called The Young Sheldon STEM Initiative.

The cast of Young Sheldon made the announcement in the video above. The program will continue the Chuck Lorre Family Foundation’s (TCLFF) commitment to fund innovative efforts and to foster excitement in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), specifically in support of our nation’s public schools, teachers and students.

“To those of us involved in making it, Young Sheldon is more than a television series,” said Lorre. “At its heart, it’s a story about potential. When the education of a child is supported, there is no limit to what that child might eventually achieve. We hope that in some small way, this program gives these public schools more STEM educational tools in the classroom for teachers to nurture and ignite the curiosity of students who will ultimately become our future leaders and scholars.”

Molaro, Parsons, WBTV and CBS will co-fund two-year educational grants totaling more than $600,000 which will be awarded to 19 select elementary, middle and high schools in Southern California as well as East Texas, where the Young Sheldon is set. It also should be noted that both  Parsons and Young Sheldon co-star Montana Jordan are from the Lone Star State. In fact, Parsons attended three of the selected East Texas schools while Jordan attended one of the Texas schools, where his mother also taught first grade.

Each of the 19 public school grant recipients will be acknowledged as a Young Sheldon STEM Initiative Grant Recipient and will receive a two-year grant from TCLFF which is specifically to support each school’s STEM teachers and STEM educational programs within their existing in-class curriculum and/or after-school programs. The grant will also fully fund all costs for an annual experiential opportunity for students and teachers in and outside the classroom. Each school will be eligible to submit for continuation grants at the end of the two-year period. The initiative will launch to coincide with the 2018–19 academic school year.
